Yes it's a recoloured CW Groove with a new head. You got Groove, you know what you're getting here.

The head, which has been sized to fit into the body cavity is too small and lacking in detail to be properly Wreck-Gar but it's a good attempt in the space available. Ideally there's be some retooling here with a block like head that could be surrounded by the front of the bike but hey ho. Far greater liberties have been taken with the combiner versions of G1 characters.

The colours however are *really* good, this is a lovely looking toy. Mainly caramel orangey brown, with grey, they chest is painted red and the shoulders dark brown.

The slightly different head may help him if you've already got the previous RTS Wreck-Gar as it makes him a good fit for another different Junkion to boost your army started with the RTS versions:

He come with a Dinobot Prime armour, in black, with a grey cover/mini gun.

His primary hand weapon is the axe that came with RTS Wreck-Gar but due to the moulded detailing on the shaft he can only hold the very tip.

The space behind his head provides a nice seat for a Titan/Prime Master

Bike mode looks nice, possibly a better fit shapewise than the RTS version's bike mode to the original Wreck-Gar. And far far easier to transform too!

His packaging art shows Inferno's combiner, albeit without showing him!

Inferno's right (on our left) arm is completely cut off so that's where he's going with Jazz as per the art. For the legs Inferno gets Smokescreen & Bluestreak, my two spare CW Diaclone Autobots.

I got the Quintus Wreck-Gar card:

Liking this a lot, may have to pick a second up to have one stand alone while the other combines with Inferno.

His Hasbro product number is E2471.

Yes, but I wouldn't say it's a match made in heaven:

That would involve me successfully transforming RTS Wreck-Gar, something I've not managed since I got the Planet of Junk set two years ago!

    However....

Which makes me think Legends Wreck-Gar.

    Yeah, no great either!

What I never seem to see anyone mention is that the gray elbow joints are on the wrong arms. Compare him to either Groove or Afternurner, and it’s obvious.

    Love that shot with cindersaur!

Was hoping they'd mass produce these so some can cheaply build a Junkitron combiner.
    You know they were capable.
Not sure who the torso would be but would make a fun project.

I love him. A lot. The head is tiny, but imo captures his spirit. The combiner port chest bit even oddly reminds me of his weird G1 ab/chest transformation. Would have preferred a new mold, or outright remolding him away from a combiner figure into just a dedicated figure with a more accurate chest and slightly larger-ish head. But as it stands, I totally love him all the same. Kind of hoping a 3P makes nippletennaes that slot into those chest slots :lol

Love these Wreck-Gar pics - I was skeptical at first but he has ended up looking like a very nice representation of the character!

Out of curiosity, does anyone who has Wreck-Gar also have Unite Warriors Computron and be willing to take a photo of Wreck-Gar as an arm replacing Afterburner?

Making Power of the Primes Wreck-gar out of the CW Deluxe Groove mold was a better idea in principal than making him out of Legends Groove. The execution, however, leaves a little bit to be desired. For one thing, I just wish they had given him a weapon that would actually fit his hands.

    20181018_221805.jpg

The Prime Armor makes a serviceable shield, since there is no way to attach it to his chest that I am aware of.

    20181019_000244.jpg

The motorcycle mode looks okay, and the Prime Armor attaches to the top of the gas tank, between the saddle and the steering. Unfortunately, I have no idea where to put the weapon to make it look worth a damn.

    20181019_001524.jpg

Wreck-gar's combined modes are, well, skinny. He reminds me a lot of CW Afterburner, being that both are orange and grey motorcycles, but Wreck-gar's weapon is inferior to Groove's and Afterburner's twin pistols.

    20181019_003633.jpg

I had hoped that this would be the Wreck-gar for my collection, since I had the Generations one, but it's foot got broken, so I sold it. Never was a huge fan of the character, but I liked the UW/CW Deluxe Groove mold, and it worked for Afterburner.

Jury's still out on this figure. More to come.

The RTS needed an update seeing it is too fragile to do anything with but display (it still may fall apart just from age). I do not believe this is a proper update and is just a lazy exclusive, though it could make a good troop builder with a couple upgrades and hopefully a better Wreck-Gar down the road, perhaps in the WFC Trilogy.

I don't know if this is your cup of tea, but sanding down that lower groove and handle should make the weapon more serviceable. It was designed for an open-handed fist originally.

There is a way to store it... DiqtRB6UEAEhhPh.jpg
It clips on the handle bar.

Nice pics and review. Not sure where the paint budget went. I mean the chest would look better in one color, whether red, tan, or silver. As is the combiner port sticks out as eyesore.

I'm getting an Afterburner vibe from him, more so than the Afterburner they retooled out of this mold 2 years ago. I think it's the shade of brown/orange they used.
