"Sold out" could also mean the stores bought too much Wave 1 , thus no room for Wave 2. Or you are right , which is just as plausible.

 

i have a simple solution for myself in regards to this kind of thing. i see it and want it then i buy it. if i dont see it, well then i get over it and move on. easy and stress free.   getting a certain transformer is not life or death for me and it is certainly not something to get stressed over.

 

Thanks for the reminder. Must have forgotten about Nemesis Prime since I don't plan on buying him. In fact, I'm skipping leader size completely for POTP. Hope he doesn't come with any necessary Prime Masters.

 

I don’t know about other people, but at least as far as I go, unless there’s no other option, (Dinobots, for example) the combining version of a non-combining character doesn’t “count” as the normal version of a given character. It’s more of a side thing that’s neat to have.

Plus, we have no idea if we’re gonna get the other seekers with this mold. Not to mention that I’m sure I’m not alone in thinking that a fake cockpit chest kind of disqualifies this toy from being my default seeker design.

 

My focus was on poor quality and lackluster quantity (only 4 Leader class figures this line that all look for the most part like crap IMO).

I'd buy Rodimus if he was 50% off but if not I don't care if retail are the ones dragging their feet with those Leaders and most of the PotP Voyager's or not.

Again, all I need are the remaining 3 Dlx's Terrorcon's and maybe that wave 4 Fembot.

POTP is like wishing to be the richest person in the world and the genie teleporting you to Mars with some pocket change.

They really suffer the most for reduced parts count, don't they?

 

I imagine that "sold out" is entirely accurate from Hasbro's perspective (however they're defining it). That doesn't make it any less misleading, since the consumer perspective is rather different.

Genies, though, those things are monsters.

(Also, I like Marvel Legends and Star Wars Black very much. Those are Hasbro too. Difference is that they keep improving. TransFormers, lately, is more about managing expectations to minimize disappointment.)

After about 3 weeks of searching in early March I feel lucky to get all of wave 2 POtP at retail. I just had some good timing. I bought 3 of each Prime Masters, 3 copies of both Battleslash and Roadtrap, 2 of each of the Dinobots and I got 2 copies of both Hun-grrr and Elita-1. One each of Tailgate, Blackwing, Moonracer, And Rippersnapper.

 

These are also dead lines that never move over here in Australia, so, not exactly what you want the line to be moving towards

But hey, we got the Voyagers here finally in Australia! Now we just need the Deluxes

 

I talked to a supervisor at Target yesterday. The pegs there were all but empty and the only POTP stuff were Legends and Prime Masters. The good news TLK and NuRiD are discontinued and heading for clearance. The bad news, they'll have to re do the Transformers section, if not the whole isle. Once that is done they should have the Transformers down to just two lines SS and POTP.

 

I still really hope to find those wave 2 Titan Master figs without resorting to doing a one-off marked-up order online. I really dig the mini-pretender gimmick.
