Oh wow... what color to get?? I'll be interested to hear about it. It looks really good, and the extra ports for other weapons is always a bonus.

It's funny how that all works out... Rippersnapper appeared in my neck of the woods and was long gone before I picked up my Hun-Gurrr. The toy shop where I got him later got in some Rippersnappers (or else held them back to trickle them out later, so they couldn't all be snatched up at once), so I got lucky there. Only seen Elita One on the shelf once, just a ton of Dreadwings warming the pegs. I may pick one up when/if the price drops.

 

Yes. I just opened the only one Ive found and tested out his torso mode. The left shoulder/hip has soft clicks but stays in place when a leg is attached. The other leg though flops to hell when I attach a limb. I looked and looks like the hollow rectangle piece that holds up the tooth for the ratchet is drooped in the middle. I put in a pair of scissors and try to prop up the tooth area, it tightens it up but I dont know what I could put in there to prop it up permanently and stay in place.

 

I guess I got lucky. Either I've got lower standards, or all my joints are nice and secure (probably lower standards, lol)

 

Yeah, this is my first combiner in the modern era and after sticking Rippersnapper on him...I was blown away. Stuck him next to leader TLK Megs and duuuuuuude.

yes, the one on his left shoulder is an homage to where his rubsign was placed on his G1 toy.

I liked the idea, but I'm not sure the execution went well... I'd rather just have a rubsign

 

Got the blaster from Shapeways for Hun-Grr, it's a solid piece of plastic, which I've had varying success with with some things I've ordered from them. Haven't been able to get good pictures thanks to crappy lighting and it being night-time, but I'll try to get it tomorrow.

So far it seems it can take all of the terrorcons' weapons, so... I look forward to getting Abominus completed since this weapon works well with both modes.

 

I'm impressed with the torso mode on this thing. It's more stable than every single CW torso thanks to all the tabs and it's solid as a brick.

 

Just got mine, I'm very impressed with the quality, it's a return to form for me.

The Rodimus I got my step son had me worried.

His dragon mode is probably more convincing when his team is around, but the transformation to torso is beyond fantastic.

His robot mode is nice and solid, with some heft and reminds me of the days when Hasbro wasn't tightfisted with plastic.

Highly recommended!

 

This figure for some reason is so hard to get unless i want to pay well over what it goes for. I have the rippersnapper figure from wave 2 but just can't get Hunn grr. I guess in time he will be available but till then buy records/CDs of my favorite bands, my other passion i love to do.

 

This seems to be the general consensus about the POTP Terrorcons so far... perhaps wave 2 in general? (My only other POTP experiences are Jazz and Windchargers, one is less than stellar, the other amazing in his simplicity

 

The beast mode works a lot better in person than in photos. It's still by far his worst mode, but from certain angles it's not bad. I am legitimately impressed with how everything pegs together in torso mode.

 

I think the problem is that it's a sticker. I wasn't too sure about the whole "fake rubsign" deal until I got Rippersnapper. From some angles, the 'Con symbol just blends right in with the dark paint around it and you don't even see it, which works really well. By the looks of things (I don't have Hun-Gurrr yet) there is no blending in with his symbol, so it just sticks out way too much and kills the illusion.

 

damn..l;ooked at mine and the ring the neck mounts on "ankle" is snapped. kinda loose now.

 

The right shoulder on my copy clicks very strongly, while the left one clicks strongly until you get to certain notches in the gear, then it that gets soft. I combined him with other limbs and so far he's holding various poses despite the left hip ratchet being softer. I'm not sure if I want to exchange it for a better one as it seems the shoulder ratchet QC is all over the place.   I am very impressed with the ankle tilts on the feet and the new combiner feet.

 

Mine was perfect. I just got him this week.
