My dream would be to have the 13 Primes as Voyagers, the exceptions being Nexus Prime, who would be a leader class, made up of five deluxes, and Micronus Prime, who would be Legends class or smaller. The only tricky one would be Amalgamous Prime, who's gimmick would be... difficult to realise in toy form, to say the least.

Ah well, a man can dream.

Settle down Gregory, we haven't even seen a full Wave 1 yet let alone the entire wave, can't be dismissing the Dinobots.

Where did that rumor of Leader Class Grimlock come from again?

I just realized, we can put the titans return hot rod Titan master into the PoTP Rodimus' matix holder and have Rodimus' Matrix be his face.
It just seems so perfect for the character lol

I'd rather use the Rodimus Prime Titan Master.

It looks very likely that Deluxes are combiner limbs and Voyagers are torsos, but that makes me wonder why the Hasbro reps didn't mention it?

Kinda worried at the prospect of all the Deluxes having to compromise their robot modes to become limbs again.

If Hasbro is using Combiner Wars moulds, I can foresee TakaraTOMY continuing their Unite Warriors toy line. If that is the case, we may see a proper 6 member Liokaiser.

I imagine (hope?) there were lessons learned from CW and they are now able to do more within the engineering parameters of the gimmick.

Anyone else kind of figuring that Dreadwind and Darkwing are two of the limbs to Starscream's core and the other two will be Thundercracker and Skywarp, using the Ghost of Starscream headsculpt from United? It would fit the color scheme.

Hope so. POTP Jazz does look better than Breakdown, but nowhere near as good as Special Ops Jazz IMO. It's not terrible, but I really don't dig those cheap hollow arms with ball joint elbow.

There's a titan/prime master in Beachcomber's CG renders (sitting in him in buggy mode)

Red arms and head, black torso, blue face from what's visible

    Might be Cloudburst?

I say Cloudburst, though I'd like to know which Prime he represents.

Alrighty, so Pretenders are on the cards. Could that extend outside the Prime Master size class? And could it extend to the likes of the Pretender Beasts?

I'm a bit confused; what's the gimmick for this line exactly? Titan masters but with engines instead of faces? And there's also combining involved somehow?

No, i dont think pretenders go beyond the titan master size and yes, i see beast pretenders in the future, i would bet the rumored Carnivac is a primemaster.

Combiner wars are back, same voyager class torso with deluxe limbs. Titan master class pretenders. Pretenders can turn into weapons. Titan master can also be used in an "engine" capacity with deluxe and voyager class figures instead of a headmaster gimmick. Leader class figures with a matrix gimmick. The Matrix itself titan master compatible allowing diffrent titan master to "fill" the matrix. Legend class is no different then in Titans return. I think thats it.

Ok, how tragic is it that I've done this in the first 30 minutes after arriving at work.

    Prime Masters
    • Skullgrin, Cloudburst
    • Submarauder, Waverider
    • Landmine, Bomb-burst
    • Longtooth, Octopunch
    • Rung, Bludgeon
    • Carnivac, Chainclaw
    Legends
    • Beachcomber, Rattrap, Frenzy
    • Freeway, Crankcase, Huffer
    • Pipes, Ruckus, Gears
    • Outback, Searchlight
    • Ransack, Waspinator
    • Eject, Rattrap
    Deluxe
    • Dreadwind, Blackwing, Jazz, Hound
    • Spinister, Needlenose, Arcee, Tracks (or maybe Prowl or maybe Sideswipe)
    • Divebomb, Headstrong, Sludge, Snarl
    • Swoop, Slag, Tantrum, Rampage
    • Rotorstorm, Hurricane, Sinnertwin, Cutthroat
    • Boss, Flash, Rippersnapper, Blot
    Voyager
    • Starscream, Optimus Prime
    • Shockwave
    • Razorclaw, BW Megatron
    • Grimlock, Thundercracker
    • Thunderclash
    • Hun-grrr, Skywarp
    Leader
    • Rodimus Prime
    • Optimus Primal
    • Oynx Prime, Ultra Magnus
    • Thunderwing
    • Deathsaurus (though maybe he'll still come out in TR and Magnus can have this slot.
    • Starsaber
So plenty of scope for mold sharing and combiners that make sense there. We've got Predaking, Abominus, a Dinobot Combiner, another Ark crew combiner, Starscream's jet squad, and a Turbomaster combiner. Fills in a lot of gaps in the collection. If it even looks vaguely like this I'd gobble the whole line up. Now let's wait and see how abysmally wrong I am.

The rumours of a BW subline make some sense when I look at this. What we've seen so far, plus my own implicit bias certainly steered me in writing this list, but even then I think I'd want to see more BW. But who do you bump to get rid of them? If we're right to think we're getting Dinobots, then there's no easy option.

If Jazz is any indication then we're going to need mold shares for a bunch of autobot cars. Jazz's similarity to Hurricane certainly lends a bit of weight to the idea of a Turbomaster combiner. If Starscream is going to have more airborne deluxes in his crew (large but reasonable assumption) then Needlenose and Spinister make a lot of sense. If we have Spinister then we need at least one more Helicopter. Rotorstorm would be a good choice. Optimus to Thunderclash, Boss to Arcee. The logic appeals to me.

Between the Dinobots, Predacons, and Terrorcons there's plenty of scope for the sort of smart, inventive mold sharing we saw in Titans Return. I see five unique molds in the Voyager line-up and four in the Leader class. Plenty of mold sharing in the Legends class (Gears/Outback/Crankcase, Huffer/Pipes, Ruckus/Beachcomber, Throttlebots, Cassettes, Ransack from TR Kickback) but possibly too much and I need to think outside the box a bit more?

I was worried when it became apparent we were getting Combiner Wars part two with added titan masters, but I'm warming to the idea.

    What does everyone think?
(edited as I noticed I'd put Huffer twice)

Wouldn't it be more fitting to put Thunderclash in the Leader Class, given the "Armor Up Trailer" thing?

I know what you're saying and that's exactly where I'd thought he'd be until I considered the possibility of a Turbomaster combiner, which I admit I am almost blindly in love with the concept of.
