I think I realised why the Seacons appeal to me so much despite my only real exposure to them is getting slapped around as background characters in MTMTE (Snaptrap getting stabbed through the head by Drift, and the failed liberation of Megatron where Tentakil got his tentacles ripped off by Broadside and Seawing unsuccessfully tried to get Megatron out of there only to get shot to shit, lol); aside from the totally tubular colour schemes I was fascinated by mythical creatures as a kid and drew sea serpents and monsters all the time, so of course the extremely 80s sea monsters would speak to me on a spiritual level.

 

oh man, i anxiously waiting for my wave 2 seacons. i also have G1 Skalor and G1 Nautilator.

So, today my Rodimus Unicronus arrived (or as I like to call him, Rodimus Motorheadicus, due to that Lemmy Killmister 'stache) and while futzing around playing with my new toy I discovered that he can, in fact, hold the Matrix in the classic movie poster pose - it snaps in between his fist and the little shelf formed by his car mode shell. Presumably normal colors version should be able to do the same thing. Watch out, Creator Primus!  

Now if only there was a place to store it in vehicle mode...

edit: Like... oh... that same slot it sits in in combined form... derp.

Another toy-based thing I've noticed is that Elita-1's squad look a lot better in arm mode if you leave the windshield shell folded down over their legs/upper arm like a supposed animation model sheet I saw ... somewhere on the internet... in the past couple of days... rather than up in "backpack" mode like the instructions presumably say to do, or at least how the official pictures and every other single photo I've seen of her online does. Reversing Elita's torso mode is flat and plain unless you also add a Legends Groove (or Wreck-Gar) hanging on with his short arm posts in the jet exhaust now-front-facing ports and legs fodled around so the split rear wheel halves face out, but very good then, and the intended front side works better as shoulder blades and spine than chest, not to mention having the tail fins framing her head from just behind it instead of just in front. Give Groove some lip gloss and call her a new recruit, or just say it's one of the other unnamed Junkions who use the same animation model as Wreck-Gar and happens to be female and call it done. I also prefer kneepad mode for the two legbots' "prime armor" fist parts, but heel extensions off the back of the add-on feet is also good for stability.
