The Hate Plague is back!

 

I did some work today on my OSKO Dinobot set, and I think it would all translate to the official set, as well as the other POTP Combiners.

First, I did this with the feet. I wanted to find a use for all the extra rifles. I flipped each heel-thumb over, then plugged a rifle into each. Makes use of the rifles, and bulks out the basic feet quite a bit.




Next, I love the fan mode with the bulked up shoulders. I made a support piece to tie the shoulders together out of Lego pieces. On the official release, the 5mm pegs fit the Legos easily. With this one, I carefully filed down the oversized pegs to 5mm.




I noticed that one hip ratchet had a heartier click than the other, so I took them apart and saw that both insert pieces were installed in the same direction. I flipped it over, to put the tooth more on center with the diameter of the gear. For extra grip, I put a slice of pencil eraser inside of each to support the tooth, but it will still squish under pressure. I'm going to do this with official Grimlock, as well as Hungrr.


Now I still had 2 extra Slash figs, and the 2 spare fists. I popped off one Raptor arm of each and flipped it to hook in Grimlock's chest, wrapped her around the waist, then her fist fits over the longer Lego peg. The fists are just folded in such a way to grip the shoulder wings. I tried fitting them on the back via Slash's two open hands, the the room wasn't there.



Overall, I'm pretty happy with how he came out. Big and beefy, like a stroganoff.

Update: I never bought the potp dinobots before because of the scale. I will buy the bmb dinobots over sized (black mamba) now the KO oversize slash bmb is also available. I will buy 2 of them

 

At long last, Hun-Gurrr is finally a part of my collection. Just one more Terrorcon left.



Here he is with his Voyager brethren, plus the Starscream and Elita-1 shrines that stayed out of storage. (Full group shot will come sometime in July as my family and I are moving back to Ohio, where the rest of my figures are.)


Now then, important question.
Who has a spare Abominus foot they're willing to part with?

I'm guessing something went wrong during assembly that mangled the peg piece as it isn't fully secure and is easy to pull out.

 

Been thinking about piking up Elita so I’ve been brainstorming names for her combined with various teams since I don’t like the moonracer mold enough to buy it three more times.

Elita Technika, Elita One plus Technobots.

Elita Primal, Elita One plus Dinobots.

Elita Supermia, Elita plus Airalbots.

Elita Inferna, Elita plus Torchbearers.

Wreckage One, Elita plus Wreckers.

Elitark (pronounced Elite Ark), Elita One plus Prowl, Ironhide, Wheeljack, and Miarage.

Edit, if anyone can show any of these off I’ll love you forever.

 

Well, my Elita's in storage, so no can do.

 

I thought that all of the feet that the PotP Voyagers came with were fugly as homemade sin.



Still need to get some new hands and feet for Orthia and "Firestormer" (the Inferno combiner).



I maintain that the Terrorcons were the best things that came out of Power of the Primes, even if I did get him new hands and feet.

 

These 2 beach scenes and Hate Plague combiners are amazing ,same for Hun Gurr obscure town!

Missed Opportunity:
Leader Evolution Thunderwing: Smaller Robit combines with armor in Vehicle Mode just like the G1 Pretender, Evolved Mode would have both updates to his G1 Guns plus maybe combine the guns to form that Four Barreled Gun from Marvel

Leader Evolution Bludgeon: same as Thunderwing, while the Armored Robot resembles the ROTF/ repurposed Voyager while the Evolved Head was more G1 (like the 3RD Party Headrobots Head)......

Alas, neither happened, as well as larger Pretenders.......Hasbro only dis mainly Autobots for Leader Class, while the only villains where Repaints (Rodimus Unicronus and Nemesis Prime)......

 

Star saber would have been perfect for the evolution gimmick. It felt almost designed for him.

 

I actually picked up a second set of Victorion hands & feet to use for this. I haven't actually assembled it yet though so I don't know how it will look.

 

Victorions hands look terrible holding weapons in my opinion. The hole is so far back from the fingers that it looks like someone just stabbed the weapon handle through her hand.

The feet would probably look ok but I'm a PE/TDW hands and feet guy and won't use anything else.

 

I use the PE hands/feet on all my other combiners, but definitely did NOT like the look of the PE feet on either Megtronia or on Victorion, so I stuck with the stock feet for those two. I can't remember what I ended up doing for the hands. I have so many extra hands/feet I may have done PE hands and stock feet.

The extra Victorion hands & feet were sold to me as a set, so it doesn't much matter whether I use the hands or not--just how the feet look. If the feet don't look good I'll probably resell them. If they do but the hands don't, I'll just toss them in my random box o' unused combiner parts.

 

I know, right?

Or how about we didn’t get The Fallen/ Megatronus in Voyager or Leader Scale considering he was the Big Bad of the Prime Wars Series.......(seeing as how they seem to be positioning Unicron, who comes out next year, as the Final Boss of the current WFC Trilogy (here’s hoping we get maybe a “Unicron’s Avatar” for the Main Line, or at least get Galvatron, a new Cyclonus and Scourge)

 

My bmb dinobots finally arrived today. And I bought two bmb slash to combine with volcanicus. I love how the bmb dinobots scale with siege, earth rise transformers. It's a better scale than the official potp dinobots. And After tried a few fan modes from the people here (thanks) and pictures from the internet. I think I like this fan mode the most. I love this thing
