Can anyone identify the item on the middle right of the picture?
I believe its just the side box art for blastoff.
Uh, it's blastoff
I see some yellow it might be punch
If I can score one of these, I seriously think I'm going to sell or Trade my Takara Unite Warriors Blast Off.
I’ll keep my Blast Off. Just more fun to go all around.
Literally the only reason UW Combaticons were better was because they had a shuttle Blastoff. Those gawdawfull colors were something to put up with.
With this figure the Hasbro set runs rings around the UW set. Toon coloring and all.
Same for me. I wanted to have two of each of the G1 guys as I feel they're better than the trash replacements. Gonna be great to finally have a second Blast Off!
Got mine and did a quick and dirty review here: Prime Wars Blast Off
This is my second version of the mold, the other one being Shuttler from the Unite Warriors Baldigus set. Blast Off does a few things better than Shuttler such as:
With BO, the neck piece is attached securely, unlike Shuttler's which detaches too easily
Tighter tabs (notably on the leg halves and the arms in combined mode)
Better and more paint
The one difference I noticed is how the shoulder pieces are attached. The arms on both figures have the same orientation, which meant to have the combiner port side as the chest. The shoulders, on the other hand, were switched on BO, as you see in these pics.
It seems that the shoulder configuration on Blast Off is meant to be the proper configuration for the mold, given how the arm gaps are hidden in combined mode.
However, I prefer Shuttler's shoulders because in combined mode, the arms fold away from the port, which to me looks better and allows me to attach his gun in combined mode without interfering with the articulation of the Bruticus'/Baldigus' shoulder. Luckily, it's easy enough to pop off the shoulders and follow the orientation of Shuttler's shoulders.
Here he is on my frankenstein and incomplete "CW" Bruticus. I'm still waiting for upgrade kits from ebay.
When I bought Baldigus, I really hated Shuttler because his head easily pops off and his joints were too loose for my liking. So I had no plans of buying Prime Wars Blast Off.
But when I found out that he's available locally, I gave him a chance, and I think the gamble paid off. This version of the mold is easily one of the best CW limbs that I've owned or handled. If you can get it at a reasonable price, I say go for it. Prime Wars Blast Off gets a solid 8/10 from me.
Can you verify this?
Yes, it's just the side of Blast Off's box.
Is it me or does that red arm look like it belongs to repugnus...
You're right, and there's a number "1" on the side of the box. Maybe these special releases are designed to complete a scene.
So maybe it's Blast Off, Repugnus, and then Punch/Counterpunch?
I think you could be right. There's no red member of the Combaticons and the teammates we do see are placed pretty far back, where it's placement is very prominent right in front of him.
Very possibly the Special Editions have a book spine art style combined portrait of the trio.
That would be the correct by Prime Wars "chapter" order.
holy moly it does
@archieboy @Jtprime17 You're definitely RIGHT!
Above what I now believe is most likely a thigh towards the knee there's one of his robot chest/insect forearm claws!!!
It's just not the same red due to the reflected glow from Blast Off's arm!
OK. So, these are now in Hong Kong. That means soon they'll be spreading to some other Asia/Asia-Pacific countries too, hopefully.
Sweet that the side box art is going to form a complete scene of the 3 exclusives!
BTW, does BO come with a collector card? (Post pics plz if so!)
No card, man. Just an instruction sheet.
... everyone is pointing out the Repugnus arm on Blast-Off's side art, and you're all missing how his side art shows the UW Blast-Off chest configuration.
The decision to base this figure on the Movor version may have been at the last minute.
