Poor old Windcharger is currently the only season 1 Minibot - in fact the only season 1 Autobot - that hasn't been released in the SS86/Legacy/Kingdom/Siege scale. He's almost certain to come sooner or later, but for now, the best cartoon-esque Windcharger we have is POTP, who is looking decidedly stumpy among his colleagues: Interestingly, the stumpiness is mainly in his legs, and he should have some extra shin above the car roof feet: So, inspired by the RTS leg swap by @Mimmers, I thought I'd have a crack at 3D printing some longer thighs and shins to get him a bit closer in height to the rest of the Minibots: It's very rough-and-ready - I can't really be bothered to refine the legs further since he's bound to be replaced by an official - but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Yes, he's a bit of a pinhead compared to the other bots, and the shins are way too long, but it doesn't work too badly, for me at least. And since it's just a thigh swap, he can return to being POTP Windcharger when Hasbro release their own properly-in-scale version. I also created him a gun based on the one he uses in Autobot Spike: He still transforms, although he is of course tiny compared to the other cars: He also now suffers from some rather unfortunate "junk in the trunk": Some more pictures with the other Minibots: And with some of the other Autobots: Cheers for looking! EDIT: Up on Cults for anyone interested in printing their own: POTP Windcharger Upgrade Set
Ohh nice, that's a lot more elegant solution than the one I went with! Say, any chance you could share the STL files? I'd be interested in getting these printed for my own Windcharger to stand in until Hasbro eventually makes a new one
Do you mean the STL files? If so, I've just added the legs and gun to Cults 3D as a free download: POTP Windcharger Upgrade Set
I'm still grateful for your solution Mimmers but this is great because it does not require the combination of two figures into one and it still maintains the ability to transform. Just wish I knew more about 3d printing.
Great job! could it be possible to short them 3-4mm and add thigh swivels? I can remix them if you don't have time
I'm amazed how well this turned out...makes me want to track down an old Windcharger so I can finally complete the set! Great job!
