So I had bought a small stockpile of chrome foil tape and decided to fully chrome out Optimus's trailer. Now it looks like a real truck's trailer! Keep in mind that I am most likely not going to paint the stripe on the trailer. I don't think the chrome accepts paint or sharpie. Check out the pics and enjoy!
Looks good so far; what you're going to want to do is burnish that down really tightly into the corners and smooth out the wrinkles. This is what I use: X-ACTO Vintage 1/8" Burnisher Tool USA NOS | eBay The ball end gets into the tight corners, while the "spade" on the other end smooths out wrinkles and whatnot. A slight polish afterward with 0000 steel wool and you're good to go! As for painting the stripe: I would use a transparent blue paint on some chrome foil tape, then after letting it dry, cut it to shape and apply with a ruler. Make sure to wipe the foil first with alcohol.
Nice, I've been tempted to take my Magnus Prime and do this to his trailer. I've also considered using it on small sections of my PotP Dinobots. Sections I want chrome, but ToyHax doesn't have covered.
