I\'m not getting the hate for these figures, they look awesome. Are they perfect? No. Sacrifices had to be made for the combine mode, imo it was worth it as that is a really cool combine mode. I personally like that they used the extra hand pieces to fill in the sides of the torso and bulk him out. Grimlock\'s dino mode suffers a bit with the chunky tail and tiny toes but he still looks good. It\'s like people expect small-scale masterpiece figures or something. They could be better, don\'t get me wrong but treating them like the worst figures we\'ve ever gotten is just objectively absurd.

But they're 3rd parties and other robot toys to choose from:) . You don't have to buy Hasbro stuff.

No, people expect aesthetically pleasing and good quailty toys. Those Dinobots look like a knockoff with their bad proportions, hollow thin plastic and cheap stickers instead of paint. I'm tired of adult collectors thinking kids toys supposed to be lousy or mediocre at best.

For anyone that's looking for deluxish Dinobots that don't look like this or combine, MFT is in the midst of oversizing DX9's fantastic G1 Legends sized Dinobots. Here's Swoop, Snarl and Sludge.

These POTP Dinos are pretty beat looking. I don't want to poo poo all over them because I know people spent time designing these guys, but yeesh, even my kid thinks they're ugly.

The addition of a female character is fun, I like the experimenting with transparent plastic over gold paint, and the combiner's head is ok, but that's about it.

In the case of Grimlock it's so the extra hands can fill in the torso, but for the others (Starscream comes with feet as well) the hands can form heel extensions that attach to the back of the feet for more stability.

FoC for solo Grimms, grab PotP if you feel like displaying them combined. Despite the obvious sacrifices for combination l am on board for two full sets, one for Volcanicus, one for dino modes, and keeping my FoC Grimlock in bot mode.

    Thanks Peaugh!

Ya.. same gold, very similar red, and from the tiny sliver I can see on Swoop, blues seem to match too. This is probably what I'll do then.

oh my god are you complaining because modern theory has dinosaurs with raised tails. Give twenty years, they will be back to tail dragging. Theories are always changing.

Im really looking forward to the Dinobots, not so much the combined mode, and i know they really all should be voyagers with Grimmy being leader class (as the Dinobots were pretty big back in G1) but meh, i can look past it for the sake of the gimmick. Individually they all look great!

Wonder if there will be an alternate coloured Swoop, pretty sure i saw pics of him in toy colours a while ago. Not that im complaining like, Swoop to me always had a blue chest, made him stand out from the rest.

Why is it when people think of dinosaurs with feathers they go to chickens and not vultures, or eagles?

wot? It's not just a theory that dinosaurs had raised tails, the anatomy of their tail bones and muscles tells us as much, and even the exceedingly rare examples of tail drag marks in preserved dinosaur tracks are nowhere near wide enough to suggest anything more than the tip of the tail making contact with the ground. Anyways, I wasn't complaining, just stating my opinion ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

:lol  I love seeing how wild different people's interpretations of feathered dinosaurs are. My favourite that I've seen was T-Rexes with plumage like little songbirds, I just love the idea of this huge death machine with colourful, poofy feathers, haha.

I'm still hoping that Takara will be able to do something about Grimlock's tail and toes...
