    Hi all,

This is a custom of Airazor, ambassador for the Jungle Planet of Eukaris in the first IDW run (whilst also drawing on her Transmetal incarnation to excuse the fact I was wary of attempting a full repaint!)

I started with the PotP Swoop figure before making the following mods:
    • She has Beast Hunters Arcee’s face attached to the combined mode head of Unite Warriors Rollermaster (a PCC Icepick repaint) which has a nice feathered look, and matches the silver-grey plastic quite well.

    • Rollermaster’s arms are used for the falcon claws, now attached to the back of her boots via various bits including a 3mm peg and newly drilled holes.

    • Her falcon head is from the original Transmetal Airazor, with some of the Swoop torso carved away to let it sit flusher in bot mode.

    • I used a modified gun from CW Cyclonus to double as her tail, and it attaches by some spare bits to the 3mm port on the back of her waist.

    • Within the limits of my basic painting skills, I gave her some gold and brown highlights to try and evoke a mix of the original and Transmetal versions of the character. It’s different – perhaps justifiable as more of an “Ambassador Mode Airazor” – but I like it.

She retains all her combiner functionality.

Nice idea making the silverbolt shield into her tail!

Looking good so far. :)  Though to be honest wouldn't using POTP Cutthroat be a more fitting choice given how his beast mode evokes a falcon a bit more?

Thanks! I did briefly consider Cutthroat because of his beast mode head - and I've seen another great Airazor custom on here use that figure. But - for me - the rest of his beast mode is less useful: the robot legs becoming a longer abdomen, the reptile tail, the clawed, thick wings, and the monster legs. Plus the colours on Swoop match some of Airazor's former toys better than Cutthroat's green and purple. So it felt like it would be a bigger custom, and I wanted to work within my abilities.

Really nifty custom. I like this a lot!!! :thumb
But I'd still make her a bit more colorful. At least the wings need it. And maybe a different Prime armor would work better for her especially pronouncing the Transmetals character.
How did you remove the golden paint from the pteranodon head?

This is a really fantastic custom. I really love the head sculpt and the added detail that the brown and gold highlights add to the overall figure.

It’s actually the clear pteranodon head from the Generations Selects Swoop. I started this custom with that figure, thinking I could more easily make the red body into a brown one using a vinyl spray paint I’d read about - but the spray completely failed to take and looked terrible, so I used that figure to practice a lot of these mods. I kept the pteranodon head piece since that was a tricky bit of cutting and sawing, and I wasn’t sure how easily I’d be able to replicate it, but the gold one on the mainline Swoop would have worked as well considering Airazor’s gold colours.
