Well, I learned something today. I always just assumed that the original toy and the Marvel Galvatron shared a deco, and the Sunbow model (as usual) was the oddball. I didn't know anything about a "Galvatron II". Thanks for the education!

I got Galvatron! Looking good next to Cyclonus. Now I just need Scourge. Unfortunately, it looks like SS86 Scourge is pretty impossible to obtain, but I did preorder SS86 Sweep and that’s basically the same exact figure.

I’ve really got to get back into reading the Marvel Comics. I’m currently in the middle of the UK Prey storyline (around issue 24 in the US comics). It’s my day off. I was gonna read some more of the Wheel of Time but maybe I’ll read that instead.

i think youll be pleased with Sweep as a fill-in for Scourge. i saw one on the shelf for the first time a few days ago, the colors are a lot more vibrant than the Scourge figure. great looking figure..

I already had a Galvatron, but I picked up one with the fixed shoulders. The overall joints on this version of the mold also just feel much more pleasant in general, save for the fact that the port for his cannon on his right arm was a bit loose, but nothing a tiny dab of glue couldn't fix. But a great mold in general.

G2 Ramjet was a surprise for me, my local Gamestop actually had them in-store. I had been on the fence, but decided that as long as I was there, I'd get him. Glad I did, he's a great use of the ER Seeker mold. Only trouble is, now I kinda wanna get Sandstorm.

Waspinator is... fine. I don't feel like he's better or worse than the T30 version. Both have different issues, but it basically evens out.

I've been a bit divided on the recent Core-Class guys. Optimus, Megs, and Starscream were kinda meh, but Rattrap and Vertibreak were both great. Soundwave falls on the great side. The only thing I could possibly complain about his is toes sticking out in recorder mode, but otherwise, he checks all the boxes. The fact that he actually comes with a tiny cassette is just a cherry on top.

Today had a package delivery (Jurassic Park) and a surprise Target encounter (RotF Sideswipe).

    20211121_001832.jpg

JP93 is a pretty mixed mixed bag. All the complaints I heard about the figure held true. Tiny head, floppy joints, car hood difficult to lift in robot mode. All disappointing. But what's not disappointing is how he looks! That vehicle mode is incredible and it works so well to make a fun bot mode. He'll definitely be displayed in vehicle mode for the most part. Here he is with the other crossover bots (my headcanon is that three of them landed near a pop culture museum and scanned the nearest vehicles not realized just how much they worked against being a disguise).

    20211121_000253.jpg

Rexy (or Tryannacon or whatever they called her) is an absolute show stealer though! While she's not without her faults (backpack won't stay put well and I was afraid I was going to pull her hips before her crotch unwrapped, I had to pry it apart with a butter knife!) she makes up for with her... everything else. The robot mode is incredible, those colors work really well on BW Megatron's body and the new headsculpt is deathly menacing. She is not a bot to mess with. Dino mode looks great as well. As much as I enjoy the amount of character BW Megatron's color scheme brings to him, its nice to have this dino in more natural colors. Looks great alongside Dinobot too!

Sideswipe is an update I've been longing for for a while now. He's easily one of my favorite Bayverse designs, if not one of my favorite Transformers designs period. But the DotM version irks me for me a convertible. I strongly dislike Transformers being top down convertibles. Thats not a disguise! I can forgive it for motorcycles because there's no alternative other than not being a motorcycle... but if they're a car, have a roof! I mean I get it that by this point in the films they weren't exactly staying hidden, but I dislike it on principal. So needless to say, I'm thrilled to have Sideswipe with a roof. The sleak new silver parts replacing the dull gray really make it stand an extra floor above DotM as well. Plus my local Target still sells Studio Series deluxes for $18 so he was even a few dollars cheaper than the DotM Sideswipe!
