Every time I think about triple-changers, I wonder how far back HasTak's CAD design files exist. Because I still think Thr30 Springer is the best designed triple-changer yet. If they still had those CAD files, they could revise/update that design and engineering for a new WfC/Legacy-sized voyager mold... but not for Springer. Use that updated base design for other triple-changers with Cybertronian alts, like Drift, Shatter, Dropkick, and Stardrive. If they can totally retool the car shell of Siege Sideswipe into Kingdom Sideswipe, they can likely make that Thr30 Springer design into somethin sleeker for Drift or other bots. And it really wouldn't take much to convert that Cybertronian copter mode into a spaceship/dropship for Shatter's and Stardrive's alt.

Or... since they've done Astrotrain and Springer in WfC, and Blitzwing is coming in Legacy, they're probably planning on a new version of Sandstorm before too long. Depending on the chopper and car designs they use, it might be possible to retool a Drift (or Dropkick) out of the same engineering design.

    * And while I'm being a heretic, I'd definitely buy an Obsidian as a Cybertronian dropship and Strika as a Cybertronian APC. C'mon, tell me something like this wouldn't work for Strika:

Absolutely, if they want to make Drift out of a Springer, the T30 design would be the way to go. I'd want them to downsize it a bit to a modern smallish Voyager height and obviously reshell all the major parts, but it would work so much better for him than the Siege mold.

I could potentially also see Drift working from Sandstorm, depending on how the dune buggy mode is shaped I could see it being turned into a sleeker Cybertronian racecar and maybe they could rework the big bits of back kibble to become his shoulders instead.

I get the Guido design and as much as I love the man's art, I'm not a fan of his Drift nor his Barricade. I'd rather have a new mold than a half hearted repaint/retool. Save that for the lower level bots like the Pyro from Bulkhead idea, which I really want.

Speaking further about Fembots, I have gained new appreciation for Siege Chromia.

I have mentioned before that I consider it a pretty "meh" mould and in many instances it is but just like I said when it was first unveiled, is still an improvement over the POTP Moonracer mould regarding how it handles its kibble. Again, is not perfect and some things like the leg kibble should have been better done but is still an upgrade over the previous engineering.

I especially dig the accessories she has which can be turned into a big gun if you're too predictable but they also can be used as grenades, arm cannons and a few more alternatives.

    20211128_170536.jpg

Hell, they can be used even as little jetpacks. Really, the only issue with accessories is that I feel like the canopy should have been able to separate to become a shield but eh, is not a bad set.

And why did I gain a new appreciation for Siege Chromia? Well, because is simply better than the Earthrise Arcee mould due that it actually fits in the WFC aesthetic and theme (Something that Earthrise Arcee just refuses to do for some reason).

For example, here it is with Lifeline and I think she might be the best version of the mould because her huge useless backpack can be seen as some sort of war medic backpack (I mean, it would have been better if you were able to store stuff of course but you know how much this thing fails) and the Nonnef wrenches are perfect for it. However, comparing it with Siege Chromia, is pretty obvious that the latter wins in terms of playability, materials, transformation and overall quality.

I still want a new IDW Chromia from Legacy Arcee but as far as updates for G1 characters go, Siege Chromia is not really bad. Earthrise Arcee though, deserves to be erased from history and be replaced by something better (Yes, this was a thinly veiled "complaining about Earthrise Arcee" post).

So next years Con exclusive is not as exciting as the Pit or Ravage IMHO. There’s going to be people who want it though.

    Season 2, episode 59. ;)

We my be getting a two-pack of Orion Pax and Alpha Trion, retooled from 86 Kup and Scourge. Remember that one Orion Pax in TR? think like that, probably. Also might come with the key to vector sigma, @wreckgar39 can back me up on this.

The Cosmic Rust episode? Please don't be a Cosmic Rust variant.

    Or is it another thing?

I would be ecstatic if it involves Orion Pax, Ariel and Dion.

ESPECIALLY Dion who really needs a proper and fitting toy.

Oh, me too. What I'd really love for Drift would be a new Hot Rod-style small-but-highly-engineered Voyager mold. But I know that's probably pretty unlikely, so my more realistic hope is that he'd be made from Pointblank/Blurr, or if not that, any mold that suits him at all better than Siege Springer.

Orion Pax and Alpha Trion two-pack? I'm in.

That's enough for me to renew! Hopefully, Pulsecon is held earlier next year, like October 1-5. :)
