@Apollux on the talk of Legacy Knockout (which is interesting that you say he might be used to stretch tooling budget since he's already a retool), do you know if he has a spoiler on his car mode? I'm guessing yes because they're the robot mode heels for the Jazz mould, but I just wanted to be sure.

I'm honestly trying to figure out how suddenly Hasbro is able to sell a certain size figure (in this case a Voyager) along with a minion, for the normal price of that size, while these past few years have had minions sold separately.

Mind you I'm not complaining that we're getting both Blaster and Eject for the standard Voyager price, but why is it now ok to pack characters together again, when it hasn't happened for awhile now in the main-line?

My first reaction when I saw Arcee on the stream was: "WTF, Apollux? You said it was good!"

I really like TFP, but I'm skipping these versions. As I have cleared my Beast Wars characters off display for space reasons I'm slowly coming to the realisation that I might be a Geewunner!

Yeah, it's easier to make a smaller/simpler voyager & pack in a minicon than doing the same with a deluxe. My guess is that we'll them sometime down the line.

What's interesting though, is that Blurr and Starscream's companions turn into the same vehicle - a racing car (albeit with different transformations), so I wouldn't be surprised if Blurr's minicon ends up being a repaint of Starscream's, and maybe engineered in a way that without the F1 car parts, it'd work for pointblank's targetmaster.

That's kinda where I was going with it.

I'm not gonna hold my breath that it's gonna happen, but with a few other full sized "partner" characters coming down the line, I wonder if the most recent price hikes were possibly made to balance out some of these guys coming with a second bot.

Mind you, this is just me wildly speculating here. :lol
Nor am I...but it does make me slightly giddy when I think about it.

So you're saying if there's an obvious repaint or slight retool for a figure, it's extremely likely that they'll be done?

    Pics unrelated

I think they may be operating on Marvel Legends' MO where the budget is spread over the whole wave, so simpler/cheaper wavemates (usually a small character with little to no accessories) would be sold the same wave as in depth guys, so like Bulkhead would be cheaper (to produce) and hollower for the sake of Eject

    I was expecting more like ER Cliffjumper height but I like his W I D E N E S S.

Looks to me VERY much like Lazer Prime's shoulder articulation doesn't extend to the shoulder stacks - the flaps in front of the shoulders cover the actual tops of his shoulders, where the actual shoulder articulation is, BUT I don't think there's any room for them to swing backwards.

As to Arcee - both Flamewar AND Ransack will wear that mold better and I'd be VERY surprised if we didn't see one of them at some point - and maybe a Toyhax set to convert it into the other.

I believe it's been retooled pretty significantly, doesn't look like Jazz's spoiler at all, very minimal.

Sorry man haven't seen any Armada stuff yet.

I'm just hypothesising here, but potentially the team may have saved budget on characters like Bulkhead and Knockout, Laser Prime being a retooled leader, and package refreshes like Galvatron so they have more budget for bots like Blaster and TM2 Megatron.

Or maybe they just managed to squeeze the budget to fit as they new they'd get enough re-use out of the Blaster/Eject molds to make it cost effective?

I'm fine that it's not the exact same spoiler, as long as it's there. Thanks man!

Do you mean the entire car mode was retooled significantly?

I really hope that's not the case, because I really do hate the compromises, but I wouldn't not believe it if it were true.

I think Laser Prime is over budget, he's only using the feet, thighs, and pelvis, but his trailer are much more substantial than ER Prime, and he's a bigger bot and truck from what I can see; but perhaps that's why he's a solid case, he doesn't have to share budget.

Bulkhead definitely looks simple but at least huge hollows are not evident, I'm sure his simplicity is saving budget for Blaster who must definately be over budget.

It's safe to say that the Scramble City-style Combiner Wars gimmickry is being ditched, unless there's a funky transformation that turns that engine block into a comboner.
