The original Cybertron Metroplex is twice as old as Generations Metro. Based on that, Cybertron is more "deserving" of an update IMO.
Over 500,000 fans out there and possibly even more all over the world don't have a Generations Metroplex. Oh, and some of us that actually did own one, sadly had to sell ours (along with our entire collections) back in 2016 in order to NOT be out on the streets the following month, due to their partner being laid off from a job and not being able to cover their share of the bills.
Now please, Feel free to insert your foot in your mouth anytime, friend.
That Blocky mess of a wheel filled with shovels is hardly an AXE of any kind though.
I feel for those who couldn't get their hands on Generations Metroplex, the prices on him are beyond insane and they 100% should reissue him. And the good news is Cybertron Metroplex is not stopping them from doing so. He's an wholly unrelated character, and if you give him a fair chance you may come to like him on his own merits.
And if the concept of name sharing really bothers you that much, just call him Megalo Convoy.
I said this before and I'll say it again. I wholeheartedly believe that (especially after hearing about knockout) that the UT/Prime characters will be hybridized with G1 and the reason RED Prime figure exist so you can have a more accurate robot mode while Legacy's have accurate vehicle modes. On top of all that, I believe that the new metroplex will be hybridized as well, with tall mode being more UT while thicc mode is G1. The copyright about a no transforming metroplex will replicate one of their base modes, with my thoughts focusing on UT's mostly as a way to get his Axe cutter.
One might hope that one of the Titans for the next Trilogy would be a new version of Primus.
What I'm wondering, if it does look at the 2000s era transformers series, will we see a reprisal of the logo from that era?
I mean, the guy was a disgusting bully and an idiot who enforced doing the same thing again and again for no rational reason at all in the cartoon. I may like his design, but there's no way I'll come to like the character on his own merrits.
Okay but...what if Metroplex is a mix of both?
God lets hope not.
They should just reissue the Generations one with some slight improvements and the Cybertron one as well.
Don't have to try and make nobody happy.
I just want a nice new updated Megalo Convoy to hopefully go with Nitro, Live, and Flame Convoys…
What if that’s the “gimmick” of some of the Evolution figures? An amalgam of previous characters who used that name into an “evolution” of those characters? That would explain the G1ification of Prime and UT characters and unless Kermit is just fucking with us, the combination of Metroplexes might be proof of it.
Oh god. Are people 100% certain Override is a voyager remold of Hot Rod?
I'm guessing that since you have always been very well informed, we should be prepared for rioting...
I'll go out on a limb and say that he looks like G1 with some Cybertron deco and turns into a city/base and an excavator. Hasbro is really going to lose some UT fans if that's the case.
Oh, man. I think this makes a ton of sense from a creative and business standpoint. "Same" character, a la Optimus to PM for storytelling continuity and for marketing to the casual fan.
I would like to temporarily recall all the praise and excitement I've expressed for Legacy for further consultations.
Popcorn at the ready....
Please just stop it! Why do you people have to be so cruel?
I hope your wrong. I hope its one or the other, I'm not interested I'm a cybertron metroplex, but great for everyone who is. I would however kill for a modernised g1 mextroplex update compared to the original titan. I fear if its a combination of both then that would mean there'll be no sign of an updated g1 version for a long time.
