I mean we already can without being limited by vehicle scaling, like what will Megatron turn into considering the size difference between say a tank and a truck, or the normally Autobot car bots without only coming up to Prime's knee?

 

If Optimus being that much taller than his troops is really a problem, and I personally dont think it is, just switch his alt mode to a smaller truck, hell maybe pull a CRiD and make him a firetruck cab so hes around car bot size. And for Megatron? The sky's the limit with him, being stuck as a tank has only been a thing since the push for evergreen designs. Or hell, keep him as a tank and let that play into it, make him big and massive, what's wrong with that?

 

Well said. After the success of Kingdom I'm kinda suprised theres so few beasts in the legacy lineup. I dont believe for a second they think skating dinosaurs and surfing monkeys cant sell.

 

Same reason not everyone like it when the main bad is stupidly taller than the main hero, it than starts to get ridiculous but not in the fun ways.


Then you get to the point where there are Decepticons and combiner teams bigger than Megatron and it then starts to look more and more like you might as well have just humans vs Decepticons.

 

Truthfully, once we get WFC style done, is love to see a complete reimagining of altmodes, new characters, etc. For example, Megatron as a B-2 bomber or as a Cybertronian spacecraft due to a supremicist attitude were great alternate takes. I'd love to see Bumblebee as a helicopter or Cosmos as a satellite. Starscream could be a Sierra Nevada Dreamchaser or an Air Force X-37. Just something to change up the franchise a bit.

 

Y'know... I reckon Starscream would work as a Phantom X-19 from GI Joe.

By that logic let's just get rid of cityformers and titans and other giant characters, if them being that huge compared to the main cast is such a problem.

There's a sliding scale to things, just because I'd like for a series to lean into the robots in disguise and have alt modes that actually scale to each other doesn't mean itd be on the farthest extreme like you're suggesting.

Honestly, I would love to see even a small line of figures that attempts to keep vehicle-to-robot scale consistent while also trying to make sure characters have the “right” size relative to each other.

Indeedy. Look at how big the F-35 is compared to the F-22 f'r'instance. Smaller, but with the same basic layout, that could still translate into a Seeker. And as for tanks, there's loads of different sizes, from light tanks up to MBTs.

Take the Scorpion for example. It's proper diddy!

If you want to make Megatron truly terrifying to most of us, make him a minivan with a bad transmission.  
Seriously though, what about a combiner team that didn't merge into a giant robot but something like a Virginia class submarine? Or a take off of minicons and headmasters with a group of humans who can attach to 5mm ports to power up a transformer with blast effects that can "change" a bots abilities?
Lots of fun options that don't need to wait past Legacy to do.

So do we think that Hasbro will go along with the "2 Commanders per year" after 2022? We know that Hot Spot may be a Commander in 2023 when the Stunticons sell well, and Deathsaurus a Commander as well if Victory Saber does well. Or will Hasbro bump Deathsaurus up to Titan after all?

I’m not sure about the 2 per year but I don’t think Deathsaurus would need to be a Titan class.
I think a toy around the same size as Star Saber, or maybe Victory Saber, with the breastforce gimmick wouldn’t necessitate a Titan class. I feel like that would be a waste of space, because I also don’t believe he’d need a super complex transformation either.

 

Wait, was Commander Hot Sport rumoured already?

 

I don’t believe there’s any leaks of commander Hot Spot. But Wreckgar said that if Menasor does well the next combiner would be Defensor and as Motormaster is said to be a commander class figure there is good reason to believe hot spot will be as well.
