If its what I like? Absolutely, have at it.
If it's not, watch out!
Now I'd kinda unironically like to see a G1 Prime in the Bayverse color scheme...
Hey guys so I was wondering does this message from hasbro mean yes or no
I think it just means company policy is to not say anything outside of when they choose to release information through their usual channels. It doesn't mean yes or no.
EDIT: also for future reference it's probably a good idea not to make your thread titles so vague. There could legitimately be people with more info on the inner works of Hasbro's releases and media sides who won't click on this thread because "uhh" doesn't tell you anything about what it's about.
Much like the character, Hasbro has created a false illusion in fan's minds that Earthmode Hound will come out anytime soon
Classic looking Generations style figures of characters from other media is so exciting to me! I’ve wanted more stuff like Reveal the Shield Lugnut for so long. I’m really looking forward to Legacy, this thread has been so fun to read. Super hyped for Knockout!
If Motormaster is indeed the Commander class figure for 2022, and assuming we get the other Stunticons as apparently Deluxe (?) figures, I wonder how they would pull of a combiner without it looking really disproportionate if indeed they do all merge into Menasor. Wouldn't a Commander class figure be much bigger than a Deluxe?
"Size classes" are more-or-less price points now rather than indicators of size. Motormaster is the Commander figure for 2022 but that doesn't mean he'll be the size of Jetfire or anything. He will most likely come with a trailer attachment that serves as the bulk of the combined mode.
On paper the Sunticons/Menasor badly need an update. Skids is a must have. Looking forward to seeing what they do with Blitzwing, Kickback and Jihaxus. Crankcase is a pleasant surprise and makes up for the lack of Autobot Mini Vehicles (really want them to get Brawn, Gears, Cosmos, Powerglide, Seaspray and Windcharger released by 2025). My kid loves the Beasts finishing off the S1 Predacons will be nice. Armada Starscream has retool/redeco potential but not sure I want to get him.
Was on the fence on the Prime characters but I’m intrigued by the G1inification. Cactusreporters drawing makes me think a Jazz retool of Knockout could work and definitely want to see what they do with Bulkhead. Prime Arcee has retool potential. Love to see a Flamewar.
I’m hoping Cybertron Metroplex is the Titan because I need some relief on my wallet and shelf space. Especially when I fund Sky Sabre.
the trailer becomes the skeleton of menasor, like many of the 3rd party ones
I suppose they could do Motormaster as a Voyager sized cab and give him a trailer like ER Optimus and a bunch of other accessories and flourishes to bump up the price to a Commander class. But if so, I don't know how all that extra stuff fits into a combined Menasor, since you surely don't want leftover kibble after combining all of them. That said, given that I have ER Optimus, I have a slight interest in replicating that "King of the Road" scene where Optimus and Motormaster drive straight at each other.
That suggests that it will play no part in forming Motormaster's robot mode, which then seems not very G1 accurate.
He'll be about the size of Combiner Wars Motormaster but he'll come with a lot of accessories and combiner kibble.
^ but probably not that.
Post WFC-trilogy Generations Toylines Speculation
It’s a little funny to me people complain about not honoring the aesthetic of the original Prime characters when I saw G2, Machine Wars, RID/CarvRobots Armada, Energon and Cybertron versions of the original characters (or at least their names ) for about 10 years before they got around Classics Optimus Prime where he was somewhat faithful to original show. I’m not saying people have to buy G1-fied Prime figures but G1 fans like me have tolerated, accepted and sometimes appreciated new versions of these characters for decades now. I buy only Bruce Timm styled DC figures. I dig Disney’s Toybox line of Marvel figures. So I get digging a specific aesthetic. The WFC versions of the Transformers is my preferred look for these characters. So that’s what I like and buy.
That said animation side seems to embrace the Prime/Animated stylization so I don’t think G1 Knockout will always be the default look for the guy.
modern generations figures have never been g1-accurate, they're g1 inspired
Depends on your definitions of "g1-accurate" and "g1 inspired".
The War For and Fall of Cybertron games? G1-inspired.
Classics Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Grimlock, etc? G1-inspired.
IDW's original continuity? G1-inspired.
ER Optimus, Siege Starscream, Kingdom Warpath, etc? G1-accurate.
Any more accurate and you'd need to go for MPs. But MPs won't seek to eventually cover the entire roster of characters, or at least not till replicators are invented.
Guess I imagined that all the siege guys were redone with Earth modes, weird.
Can Anyone point me to one complete list of the upcoming Kingdom/SS/Legacy leaks?
What’s the probability of getting animated items. It’s a very popular line that’s very overlooked.
There has been so much discussion/debate/arguments over the new Prime figures that I could not be bothered reading every last post, so I apologize if I start this up again, only to say something that's already been said. While skimming through the thread, I've seen some talk about how what's happening to Prime is what happened to G1, prior to WFC and I disagree.
A good, character-driven design will have specific traits that are most important for that character; Most everything else can be changed, but as long as these traits are carried over, it will still feel like the same character. I actually think Animated Bulkhead and Prime Bulkhead are good examples of this; They are drastically different designs, but through carrying over the stumpy legs, chubby torso, giant arms and big chin, they both feel very similar to each other. Legacy's Prime's figures, going off the descriptions given, will not carry over these core traits. Bulkhead won't have stumpy legs or a chubby torso. Knockout won't have his tatoo-like car-door-arm flames, his yellow shoulder wheels, his multicolour shoulder spikes or his shoulder arches with the yellow on the inside. These Prime characters aren't reinterpretations, they're cheap retools that aren't even trying to recapture the feel of the original designs.
