I could be wrong but didn't the team say that we might be getting a retool of Holiday Prime as a "classic Prime" figure?

Since the Junkions are confirmed to be getting redecoes, I wonder if they're getting redecoed into existing characters. We know there is a possibility for a "Lockdown" retool from one of the Junkions.
I'm thinking that Scraphook also has an intended retool or redeco at some point, same with Crashbar.

Scraphook can be retooled into a new Stunticon Offroad, Offroad himself was a very minor character so I don't think it would be a bad idea to make him a modular figure, he was pretty much a nobody. Scraphook could also be retooled into maybe a new... yeah I'm not sure.

I was thinking Crashbar could be retooled into Cy-Kill, the legs are almost the same as DX9 Salmoore. But that would piss a lot of people off because many would expect Cy-Kill to be a Voyager figure retooled from SS86 Wreck-Gar. The GoBots themselves were almost the same size in the cartoon (though the size sometimes fluctuated).

If you think about it tho, literally anyone can be retooled from the Junkions, after all the modular feature can be ignored and it was likely meant to be ignored for retools of the Junkions.

 

Crashbar could be reshelled as a jet, kinda...

If you put the nosecone and the engine on the feet, but where would the wings go?

 

They could just tool them as weapons to plug in on the side

 

With the 3-headlight chest on Crashbar someone suggested that might be how they do Road Pig, which seems a logical possibility to me.

Not yet, all we have is the bot mode render from last year.

 

Crashbar into Road Pig seems very possible, I mean both are bikes and it's not like Road Rocket was spot-on accurate to the original.
I would expect a mere redeco with a new head like Road Rocket.

I remember someone speculating Strongarm would be a Scraphook retool, because of certain details which looked similar at the waist and midsection. Now I wouldn't mind that since the modular gimmick is likely meant to be ignored, but the retool would have to be super extensive and at that point why not make a new mold?

While HasTak has the rights to the name Cy-Kill, I don't think they have the rights to the toy design. Any homage would have to be careful to avoid copyright issues (but they did pull it off with Crasher).

Yeah a new Cy-Kill figure won't be very accurate, which is fine with me because I never had any liking for GoBots except the series they were adapted from, Machine Robo.

If we get GoBots in Legacy exclusive sublines I only expect those GoBots who've had a prominent role in TF lore and fiction (the Minibot redecoes, Cy-Kill, Crasher who was basically Fracture and we also already have Crasher) to have updated figures. I don't see any other GoBot getting updated figures unless they had a prominent role in TF lore.

 

Cy-Kill needs to be a Voyager.

Since the Modulators usually get repaints, what’re the odds that Axelgrease is a repaint / retool of Scraphook, and Strongarm is a new mold? This way the Voyager Junkion we’ve seen listed could be the Lockdown pretool.

We know at least one Wave 1 Deluxe always gets repainted / remolded in Wave 3 - And we know it’s not Powerlinx Hot Shot, G2 Breakdown or a likely Windsweeper from Needlenose listed, so Scraphook is 99.9% likely going to be either Strongarm or Axelgrease.

Alternatively, I know it wouldn’t be 100% accurate but I think you could get a half decent Animated Oil Slick from Wave 2’s Crashbar too with a bit of retooling.

I would say the odds of either Axelgrease or Strongarm being a Scraphook redeco are pretty much zero. While modulators do end up getting plenty of redecos, the redecos never end up is the mass retail line up. They are always Gen Selects or a store exclusive.
