I honestly didn't see that on his box, then again I just tear the figure out so yeah

 

I had to pull this off of Pulse as I got my Blaster in Kingdom, curiosity got the better of me.

 

I don't think Detritus will be a modular Junkion for a few reasons. First is that the modular Junkions seem to be completely original characters/designs in order to give the designers more freedom when working out their transformations and still be modular in both modes. Second is that all the modular Junkions seem to go by placeholders in the listings until release so the fact that Detritus was given his name in the listings point towards him being non-modular. Third is that we know a G1 Hound mold is coming and have seen it so it makes more sense to redeco that instead of making a brand new mold for a character who historically is just a Hound redeco. Fourth is that they can't even retool the Hound mold to be modular due to its transformation scheme. It makes it impossible to be modular in alt mode which is a big selling point of these Junkions.

Fair point, but then one of the Junkions is implied to be a pretool for a potential Lockdown so I think some of these figures might be designed with retools and redecos in mind.

Yep, agreed on this one. Unlike the others Detritus didn't have a Junkion codename.

I honestly wish Detritus was a redeco of Siege Hound, I mean the Earth Jeep mode would be cool too but the Siege vehicle mode fits more with the Mad Max aesthetic of these Junkions.

 

It's a strange thought until you remember that stealing peoples' parts and grafting them to himself was Animated Lockdown's whole thing

I was running under the assumption he could be in the next Buzzworthy "Collides" 4-pack.

 

I want that one on the right with a few changes as a Voyager Legacy Prime Breakdown.

Why does it make a difference whether it's an Earth car or not? Lockdown's size, potentially complex engineering that may be required to turn a regular Deluxe-sized car into a Voyager-height robot, and all the accessories he'd benefit from including all mean he'd likely turn out much better as a Voyager.

Hot Rod's height is about the minimum height I'd want for him and that could be achieved as a Deluxe (ER Trailbreaker/Hoist) but yeah, I'd prefer if he's closer to Optimus and Megatron in height (within reason, balancing how tall they can get way with making him without the car mode being too out of scale), and a modern CHUG Lockdown has been one of my top 3 most wanted figures ever since I started collecting again so I want him to be done right, no compromises to the engineering or aesthetics that could've been avoided with a bigger budget.

 

I'd so much rather they go the Red Cog + weapons/accessories pack (hey, core Skywarp's & Eject's/Rewind's missing guns) route with Chop Shop than in another expensive figure 4pk.

 

I'm hoping Lockdown pretool is the Voyager, I'll be quite disappointed if he's just a Deluxe. The pretool itself is fine, the Lockdown reuse of the mold not so much if it's at Deluxe price. He might be conpromised and he might not come with much accessories.

 

i was specifically thinking of the size of the car mode. i figured ti might be too big compared to other deluxe cars. i realize what i said was stupid but i'm just trying to explain what my thought process was.
