Lol imagine if Strongarm is indeed the R.I.D 2015 incarnation of her, but just a very extensive retooling of Scraphook with a new head, chest, legs and roof and including new weapon accesories and lightbar.

When was the last time a car was a voyager though? Those are usually relegated to deluxes. I don't seeing that needing a voyager budget.

Eh. The gimmick was designed to be ignored for transformation on the Junkions. It's very likely that was done to make it easier to retool them into other none Junkion characters. If the retools are extensive and good enough it really shouldn't matter. Though you're right that some people woupd still throw a fit over it regardless.

 

Like Enderstone mentioned, Override, but even ignoring it being that recent I think there's the other factor of the car Junkion almost certainly being a pretool for Lockdown, and Lockdown would need a kind of height that Deluxe might not be able to afford him.

Height aside, Lockdown and his Junkion moldmate would both benefit from any extra weapons or tools or a large hook hand in the box. The more I think about it, the more voyager class makes sense.

i don't mean to sound like i'm moving goal posts but

i was thinking earth cars. i mean as close to as a junkion can be to an earth car.

 

i was thinking they could do a 2 pack of him with a swindle repaint as well. they referenced this in Earthspark, so it could be a thing.

 

in that case the closest thing to a voyager earth car is ss86 hot rod otherwise the last voyager car (to my memory) is siege springer, and then all the way back to t30 roadbuster or sandstorm/springer

 

Even with that, there's still the fact that with this muscle car Junkion most likely being a pretool for Lockdown, it's going to need quite a bit of height in robot mode to an extent we haven't seen at Deluxe class in years; the car mode doesn't need Voyager budget, the robot mode does

If we have to have any Cybertron character relegated to being a reuse of a G1 mold, Hardtop (and his redecoes) is definitely the one I'd pick. Definitely close enough I wouldn't be much bothered.

 

If the Lockdown pretool guy is a Voyager that would be awesome, since Lockdown is rather tall and he would need to have extra engineering to be tall.
Now I can just hope that Wave 3 Deluxe Junkion Axlegrease isn't another damn motorcycle... please be something like a 40s coupe or a hot rodded classic car...
