Isn't production typically the ones in charge? They'd be the ones hiring the animators, writing staff, director, etc etc.

I'm wondering if there is a lore friendly medium that balances things, like how idw's stormbringer positioned pretenders. The idea of massive robot hiding in a human style pretender doesn't work for me on the "I'll buy the obsudity of it for story sake" but a giant robot with a mecha suit of power armour made up of cyber-organic components does kinda work.

"CHUG" is a (terrible) acronym for "Classics, Henkei, United, Generations" the sorta collector-oriented lines. The "nu" is some other arbitrary moniker for WFC onwards, despite... Classics, Henkei, and United not even existing anymore and don't "fit in" to that line.

    That's a good point.

Do you have any propositions for a shorthand name for the "WFCT-on" Generations line?

That doesn't exactly convey the necessary information that a unique name for the WFCT+ lines would though.

I would like the rest of Soundwave’s cassettes and for them to be compatible with WFC Soundwave.

Ahh, okay. And correct, it's Universe, not United.
Likely, CHUG is mostly reflecting the scaling of the figures, rather than the fact that they are still going on. Even though Classics, Henkei! Henkei!, and Universe don't exist, they were still in the same overall SCALING.
So, there are Legends/Core Class "Scaling" (meaning they're to scale with other Legends Class Figures), there are the CHUG-Scaled Figures (to scale with other figures in CHUG) and then there is Masterpiece-Scaling (meaning that it's to scale with the Masterpiece-Scaled Figures). Dr. Wu, Magic Square, Cang Toys (as of somewhat recently with CY-Mini-01), and Iron Factory all are of the "Legends-Scaled" Figures. Meanwhile, Fanstoys, X-Transbots, Cang Toys (originally), and Keith's Fantasy Club all are "Masterpiece-Scaled". Kingdom Dracodon, Vertebreak, and Rattrap, while Legends CLASS Figures, are all CHUG-Scaled.

Thus, CHUG really currently more represents the scaling and not the presence or absence of Classics, Henkei! Henkei!, and Universe.

    (Warning: Rant about TFWiki)
Though, I tried to go to the page for "CHUG" in the TFWiki and apparently, they removed the "CHUG" page and now just link to the "Transformers: Generations (toyline)" page (Transformers: Generations (toyline) - Transformers Wiki). First of all, why would they do so? They could have simply archived it, but they basically merged the two pages into one. First of all, this makes it harder for me to figure out what "CHUG" actually stood for. Secondly, it makes the whole page super long. Thirdly, I used the "CHUG" page as basically a hub to get to the different CHUG Toylines. But now, it's made into this long page scroll. Why TFWiki?
    (Rant End)
Anyways, I feel that the Third-Party Companies need to make more "CHUG-Scaled" Figures.

Excited to see what they look like! I'm not too into Pretenders, but eager to see where they are going with them. My secret hope is that it's based on the beast pretenders, so I can have a mini-Snarler to hang out on my desk. I hope we at least get 1 Autobot & 1 Decepticon.

I want some 3p or independent designer to come up with a new ravage mold, or an upscaled legends one, the Siege one is just hideous.

In the meantime, Dr Wu released Squawkbox, and Toras Workshop has files available for you to print your own Slugfest and Overkill

I'm with you on just calling it nuCHUG. Simple, easy to use. To me it's a clear break. Fenrys was right by pointing out the carry overs, but they are more legacy exceptions than the rule. The engineering, scale, and aesthetics have changed enough that it's got the feel of a reboot. (Though I'm ok with including most all of Prime Wars in the extended family.)
What's cool is that folks who want to include all of Classics on to now or those that just include some of it have options, though.

We can call it nuCHUG, but only if you sing it to the tune of "I Want a New Drug" by Huey Lewis and the News.
