So we've got a thread for classic movie posters and one for classic comic covers, so why not one for the best medium as well? Box/case art, arcade flyers/posters, promotional art, whatever. Only rules are that it's got to be games, it's got to be awesome and reasonably old enough to qualify as classic. I'll start with Revenge of Death Adder -
My favorite series when I was a kid comes to mind. Always thought PT2 Art was amazing especially with the Dragon. Still pissed I never can beat pt 1 lol. Cheers! EDiT: And This! (Also pissed off I couldn't beat this. Made it to the Technodom and was close to fighting Shredder but they kept spawning those flying Rock soldiers.)
The NES box doesn't quite do the first one justice, here it is from the (entirely different) Arcade game -
I totally remember that arcade when I was kid. I remember thinking "Why's he doing some gymnastics??" Lol, Thx for reminding me though, gonna check that out on my Pi later.
We got Final Fight there, so why not Haggar's wrestling career? Western Sega murdered that cover, here's the original -
Just came to mind as I had it when I was a kid but unfortunately loan it to a friend ([email protected] YOU JUAN TORRES!!!!) and he moved and took my game with him. Will always remember my parents disappointed face bc they just bought me that game and back then iirc NES Cartridges were like $60-70 iirc. Also in my Teens besides MK and Killer Instinct, this was my jam @ the Arcades. I remember just watching ppl play this and it was entertaining to watch then when it was my turn,I got DESTROYED lol.
Would have loved to have gotten a Marvel anime or something done in Bengus style, his art for the Mahvel games has aged far better than pretty much any actual Marvel art from the time. From the other side of the fighting game fence, cover art for Real Bout Fatal Fury -

Of course with this little secret. Razer can do this to the hamster. Just don't show it to the hamsters owner.
Despite the mixed opinions of the game, the first TMNT box art let kids that grew up with only knowing the cartoon that these turtles mean business!
