Mind you, I can't tell for sure if this is supposed to be a test shot of Hasbro Premium Blackout or a loose Lawson Blackout. If it's the premium, he's indeed identical to Lawson Blackout.

Extremely hard to tell. I've been looking at all the pics of Lawson's Blackout and Hasbro's and I cannot find any difference between the two to ID this thing with. Grrrr.

Pretty. there's a strong temptation to leave it in copter mode though. I like premium Blackout more in copter mode, and the original more in robot mode.

 

Agreed 100%. I'm still puzzled by the use of light-colored plastic on the Lawson's/Premium robot mode. But man, the helicopter looks great, as does Scorponok.

Oh well, that's one benefit of collecting Transformers... if you end up having two of the same toy/mold, you can just display them in different modes.  

 

i'm kinda happy that i didn't go after the lawson's one...since this looks the same to me

 

QFT. The comparison pics between Premium and O.G. Blackout in vehicle mode have almost got me sold, but it's that light silver/tan? color in robot mode that's putting me off. I like that new main color instead of the powder blue, but I prefer O.G. Blackout's black plastic and paint instead of the tan or light silver.

 

Only problem with that, the official pics have been touched up, and the Lawson's pics are a bit darker (note the shadows and the yellowish background). While differences in the deco would be easy to spot, differences in colours are very much harder, since the conditions those pictures were done under could account for the differences in shade.

Though I'd totally believe it if one were a shade lighter than the other.

 

Well, those are the minimally-touched-up-final-product Hasbro stock photos, not the airbrushed-hand-painted-early-prototypes stock photos used for the back of the packaging and such.

 

Sold ! I have yet to get a Blackout toy, so I'll get the premium, looks pretty

My Blackout is kinda loose, so I'll be replacing it with this one. but with 2, I'll be able to have him holdng the rotor wepon, and still have the rotors on the back.
