A definite improvement, but still too slim hipped (relative to the broadness of the shoulders) for my tastes. If only they could do something about that, I'd be down for sure.

Honestly, I much rather they keep it the same height as the official, and just release as an improved figure. Boggles my mind why it wasn't released like this from the start, though..

Anyone have an news on a expected release date? This year or next? I'm debating the KO hot rod that's coming out this month but this one looks better. I never understood why they just didn't scaled down Rodimus prime. He bot and car modes were amazing.

Well, to be fair, scaling a transforming toy smaller would make all small fiddly parts even smaller and more fiddly, and much more likely to break.
MP-9 is already a QC nightmare. Making it smaller would just make it worse.

Plus, I do not like how MP-9 looks in bot mode. I never have. I like MP-28 way way better

Has it been confirmed that this will actually be oversized and made by Wei Jiang?

I had the same problem recently when I had Jazz, Prowl, Voyager Ultra Magnus and Jetfire standing too near to each other, it was just a little too much white.

IMG_9424.JPG If this isn't OS it's no worth it. Hot Rod should be as tall as Perceptor in attached photo. Official MP Hot Rod is just to damn small.

The sad thing is, this is the type of crappy accuracy Takara is going for now. Something that was horribly drawn is actually what they are aspiring to in terms of likeness...

Its pretty bad when the official starts to look more like a knock off that cut corners.

According to the scale chart, Hot Rod should almost be a head shorter than Perceptor. Rodimus Prime is a head taller.

So really, that photo seems almost accurate.

An oversized MPP could work well as a standard MP Rodimus, depending on his final size. That and FT Hoodlum tick both boxes. At least until FT do their own matching Rodimus

I love the animation actuate alt mode on the official. While fans toys does a great robot mode, with these mods to the figure, the robot mode on this is more than enough for me.

Yeah I personally don't care for the scale chart that much. While I understand the cartoons are crap for scale I'd prefer a taller Hot Rod, shorter than Galvatron but closer to scale with Preceptor. Eye balling the 1986 movie the official just looks small to me as well as just not looking good at all.

Bot mode looks great. Let's see the impact on alt mode if any. No interest in an oversize but will pick one up if 1:1 and alt mode isn't gimped.
