I did mention those parts as well in my post but you most likely didn’t understand what I was talking about. I did not explain it very well.

Any idea how they chromed the thighs and crotch? Is it as simple as one of those chrome markers or did they actually plate the parts somehow? And is that a one-off custom head or something being sold in a kit?

And yeah….. this is more like what the figure should have looked like out of the box.

No marker will do that. They found a place that will do personal vac-metal or electroplating... or they have a friend.

I like how the bigger head makes his arms look skinnier.

I'm surprising myself saying this, and maybe it's just because I don't think the quality of that electroplating looks very good, but I think the paint TT went with on MP-44S looks better than this.

I really want that toy head. Is there anyone who’s making one for sale? The one in the above picture looks really good.

    Comet Shot Creations MP-44S Head

CSC's is more of a Masterpiece aesthetic head in design, while this Weibo one looks like an upscale of the G1 head but with different-shaped eyes for some reason (face looks quite pinched).

Started messing with 44s recently, and both of the lower knee ratchets on my copy have stopped ratcheting. They still move, but obviously without the ratchets working, but now with a god awful squeaking. I've taken apart the left leg, but obviously the OG fix for 44 doesn't work here, so I was wondering what was the cause of the ratchet not working here, whether its it being out of place or it needing to be tightened or loosened. Here some pics of the piece in question. 1000007578.jpg 1000007564.jpg 1000007563.jpg 1000007562.jpg

    Okay so, quick update.

So it looks like this part right hear broke off the ratchet, which is why the left knee stopped working. Should I use super/crazy glue to the pieces together, or is there a better way to do this?

The new knee design on 49 and 44S will allow you to run out of ratchet teeth on the lower joint if you bend the knee joints out of order. The old design on 44 was trying to prevent that from happening. Instead of fixing it properly they just removed the lockout. So you should be able to manipulate the knees until both joints start clicking again. Are you sure that wasn’t the issue?

On my copy and at least one other I’m aware of the ratchet was so tight it felt like it was going to break so I opened it up and lubed the ratchet. It was a giant pain to get everything back together.

Yours looks like it’s actually broken but hard to tell from the pics. Did you break it taking it apart or are you sure it was already broken? Again, hard to tell from the pics but if the broken off part is that small it will be very difficult to glue it back on. If you lube the ratchet and put everything back together it might still work with only one locking pin. Maybe.

If it can stay in place with the remaining tab, you might be able to get by, by applying shock oil to the ratchet teeth, that should prevent the ratchets from seizing.
