Just realised the reason why MP-44S comes with the accessories he does: they’re the exact same accessories as MP-49 so they don’t even need to make a new packaging layout. Cheapness to the extreme.

Yeah I don’t want a hyper toon aesthetic. I love the hybrid of show and toy accurate. The little details from the original toys were great.

We all have different opinions. Fortunately we all get to choose what we want to buy.

I wouldn’t. I just want a Deep Cover that matches all of the other Lambos.

If anyone going to throw away his box, I need his inner tray for my mp49. :lol

It you are not gonna buy them, then it doesn't affect you. Why would you hope it doesn't get made which is something will make a lot of collectors happy o_O

Honestly, I feel like the multiple previous and CHUG scale Lambos did a good job with blending G1 show, G1 toy, and modern stylized interpretation. This assessment includes the original MP Sideswipe (and the Alternators version as I keep that one with MP01). We don't have any true show accurate versions of the character, though. It would be nice to get at least one official (that's not just a paint job or a 3P).

Also, for Clampdown, it may not be so bad to grab a KO MP Sideswipe and do a custom (for those of us who have that ability).

I don’t care if they make a new Sideswipe mold. I don’t have to buy it. What I don’t want is for them to ONLY make Deep Cover with that theoretical mold. If that’s what they do, I’ll probably still get it because hey, it’s still Deep Cover, but I will not buy any other versions of that mold. Heck, we’re still waiting for a Guard repaint of Ironhide…

Yeah that’s out of my skill set and besides, no matter how good someone customizes something, it’s still nowhere near as nice as factory made.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve see a lot of nice customs. I’ve also seen a lot of people use a Shapeways head and paint it and think it’s nice. :lol  And that’s fine for them, but I know I sure wouldn’t be proud of a grainy Shapeways head…

As the risk of repeating myself from the Riggorus thread…

I truly hope we get Deep Cover from the MP-12 mold before it gets retired…

This would be perfectly acceptable to me as it would check multiple boxes: MP Mirage, MP Red Mirage, and MP Deep Cover!

This is pretty much it for me too: I want a MP Deep Cover that matches the rest of my lambos without having to buy the rest all over again. With that said, I’d probably buy a V2 Red Alert since he’s just different enough from Sideswipe that I could reasonably justify it!

And to keep things on topic, I PO’d the toy-inspired MP-44 repaint, but the more I look at it the more I’m reconsidering…

I keep seeing it referred to as MP-44S… Is that the official designation? Any idea what the “S” is supposed to stand for?

Wow, I somehow missed the MP-44S news from a few weeks ago, so I'm just learning about it today (thanks to Pulse). Preordered on AJP immediately!

I get that some folks feel like this is a lazy Takara release, but I'm honestly really excited. A discount MP-44, sans trailer, electronics, and all the toon paint, is exactly what I've wanted! The deco is perfect to me. For under $200 shipped, I'm getting my ideal masterpiece Prime. Thanks Takara! :D

Right you are, I’m still blinded by resentment.

They may just add in the stand adapter without changing the rest of the orientation though, there is space

I wonder if they’ll go for a full chrome matrix again like MP-49 for a New Year Convoy homage (maybe this time even chrome the centre)

I'd come out of collecting retirement just for a Deep Cover based on MP-12.

Is someone ever going to change the title of this thread? It’s 44S, not 44+. We may end up getting a 44+ in the future and then this thread will just confuse things.

Not gonna lie, I'm warming up more and more to MP-44+ because I genuinely do love the colours. I think at this point I'm gonna be really curious to see if they addressed the design issues the MP-44 mould is notorious for. I'm still super bummed about the lack of the trailer though. I don't even care about the million accessories at this point.

I have MP-49 and I've always wanted a MP-44 but it's just too much money on the aftermarket. Now I can get a MP-44 without selling a kidney and he'll look fantastic right next to my MP-49. I am going to try and take the backpack apart and see if I can slide some electronics in it.

I really wanted a reissue, but this will do for now. I still think there's more too this, maybe a TT Mall exclusive trailer or a new Ultra Magnus repaint, for those who want a legitimate toy repaint down the line.

Its funny. I have the MP-49, but have not taken it out of the box yet. I was not able to get MP-44. Looking at the transformation process for MP-49, I'm not a fan. I wonder if I should just look to pick up the Ghostbusters MP-10 instead.

I've seen this comment pop up a few times so now I'm wondering, did Takara ever offer the trailer separately before?
