Dang. That does look tempting. On one hand I'm a bit optimus'd out. On the other hand I never owned the WFC mold and have heard good things, and I really like that Kup mold as a Titanmaster transport vehicle. Would be cool to have it in a different color.

I guess this is a purchase if I see it at a reasonable price that I can impulse buy, but I don't think I'll be hunting for the set.

I was kind of expecting to see Orion appear in the next TR box set. Maybe with Dion. If they're only doing Orion Pax, though, in a movie-adjacent set, I doubt we see Ariel or Dion, so I don't need this. Thank goodness there's finally a TR set I don't need

Not officially but there's a big hint on the packaging: It's an Evolution two pack and they are usually TRU exclusives.

That's the thing we still don't know how this set will be released. Transformers Tribute could be the HASCON branding and each year we'll get a two pack like this or it could be another movie based line, but the lack of an actual movie mold make that seem unlikely to me.

I would love for this to be something that we get more of and for it to be a retail release, but I'm not too hopeful of that. This and a Bumblebee set seem like the kind of thing Hasbro would think we want at HASCON.

I assumed, since it said Evolution and had tri-lingual packaging, that it'd be available via store exclusives (TRU, or BBTS in NA and Hasbro Asia elsewhere, or whatever). Might be me jumping to conclusions.

I'd be totally cool with this being one in a long running series of Aligned/pre-Earth G1 two-packs - FoC Ultra Magnus and TR Perceptor as Magnum (or Dion from Wheelie); WfC Megatron and Twin Twist as Miner Megatron, etc. - but I think it'll be more like the last line of movie Evolution sets that hit the major movie players with basic repaints* - Hot Rod, Megatron, Bumblebee.

*If the distinction I'm trying to make is unclear, I'm focusing more on the idea that Orion Pax, to me, goes with Dion, Ariel, Miner Megatron, Magnum, etc. and that would be the basis of the figure choice, whereas I believe Hasbro is focusing on Optimus is in the movie, so they found another OP figure, and they'll just toss out HR, Bumblebee, etc. I don't want a singleton pre-Earth G1 figure (Orion Pax); I want all of them ;)

There's just no other way to ask this, so I'm just going to go ahead:

    What's up with his face?

Is anyone else seeing that? Is that the Thunderwing Titan Master on top of Orion Pax's shoulders? The picture isn't exactly high definition, but I don't think whichever choice of face that is appeals to me very much, if that's their final draft. I'll still wait for better pictures to decide for certain, though, because I'd like nothing more than for this to turn out to be a good set.

I did not notice the "Evolutions Pack" until after I posted that. I think the quadrilingual packaging might suggest a retail release, or at least a plan to release it in non english speaking markets, after it's HASCON run. Like I said before I would like to get this and see more like it even if they mix it up with movie toys, animated toys, and CHUG toys. I think the best back they ever did like this was the Legacy of Bumblebee from the first movie.

Hmmm. I don't think that's Thunderwing. Chances are, he just has really defined cheeks that are giving him what appears to be a "Joker grin". A better resolution would clear it up.

Higher resolution pictures are definitely required. At this resolution, the face looks quite odd.

Looks cool. Not sure if adding WFC Prime was the best choice, but it's a good mold and it has a different deco, so...great if you don't already own it I guess. I like how they used a lighter cartoon blue on Pax.

Based on the leaked instruction pics from a few days ago, the head is supposed to be like the T30 Orion Pax figure.

I think I might get this set. As of right now I own neither of the molds in it.

It reminds me of some of the KOs we see from time to time with movie bots on the packaging but an Optimus colored CHUG mold.

Tbh makes it seem like a KO with the disregard for whether it appears in the source fiction

At least previous evolution packs based on the movies had AN ACTUAL FUCKING MOVIE MOLD

Kup strangely works for Orion. I dig it.

    "27 steps"

Ah yes, a reminder that WFC Optimus is one of the most complex mass retail Deluxe-sized figures ever.
