Exactly. Rattrap was just an OK selling toy too. Are you telling me that G1 Grimlock wouldn't outsell Rattrap?

A reissue I’ve been wanting forever is Octane. Never had a vintage and he’s a major part of one of my favorite episodes, Starscream’s Ghost. Honestly I’ve been doing this so long there isn’t much else I would want from the tv show.

I'm been thinking about getting this Hound, since I don't have a G1 Hound in my G1 collection, but I wish Hasbro released the original Hound(Toy Colors) because that's the one I really want the most. Hurry up Hasbro and give me Predaking, Bruticus and Piranacon/King Poseidon, since those the only other G1 combiners besides Devastator who still have their molds.

All of those combiners have been reissued in the last 10 years, so they might not do them again. I think the Bruticus mold is showing fatigue and details are starting to soften. I don’t know how people would feel about another run on it if it’s gonna be a dud. If they fix the mold and do a toon accurate Bruticus, I would be all over that.

Yeah my vote is for an animation colours Astrotrain, however he was only re-released recently so if they are planning that, it'll probably be later down the line.

As someone else mentioned a "Rumble" / Ravage two pack is possible.

Does the Springer mould still exist? Re-issue of that would go down nicely.

Being that it's never been reissued, I'd assume it doesn't. Would love a reissue though, he's one of my favorite characters and one of the few notable g1 figures I don't have.

Rattrap only cost $22.99. So the idea that reverse engineering molds is prohibitively expensive doesn't seem to hold up. Seems like you're paying an extra $5 or so/unit for the cost of reverse engineering molds.

I wasn’t even thinking about the mold costs. More just the almost arbitrary high prices some of the G1 reissues have had that ensured their failure at retail. A Prime cab with gun was what $50? So Grimlock with three weapons, missile, tech spec reader with inflation and your $5 mold fee has to be what $75? $80?

Is anyone still confident he’d sell well at Walmart at that price? I’m not. None of the other recent reissues really have.

well, look at starscream. the last reissue was 50 bucks right? but the retro version is 35. i don't remember what the last hot rod was but it was more than 33.

if they do it in the same retro style, i don't think it would be 80 bucks. stuff like the lack of chrome and the closed boxes seem to help lowering the cost.

    Very true. Excellent point.

Now question back to those asking for a Grimlock reissue: is a less expensive, cartoon accurate, yellow version with no chrome what you’re looking for here?

Not counting Lost Moulds, or Characters that have not been Reissued before, these are the possible characters that would fit in the price point,

    Bluestreak
    Ironhide
    Ratchet
    Jazz
    Prowl
    Kup
    Astrotrain
    Blitzwing
    Seekers
    Soundwave?

Hmm..., I think if Hasbro is going for an Autobot, and Decepticon pairing, then Astrotrain has a good chance.

I'd be happy with that too. Though I would prefer a cartoon/prototype colors Astrotrain. Thus far all the 'retro' figures have been cartoon colors, and G1 Blitzwing pretty much already was cartoon colors and we already got a reissue of that a while ago through Takara.
