I like the wheel placement on the legs. Almost makes him look like he has weird velociraptor legs, which I always enjoy.

Bot mode is way too scrawny. Those legs just seem incomplete.
Alt mode was so close to good, but the gappy cab, weirdly angled brush guard and lack of side tanks just kills it for me.
If it were at a Voyager price point I would consider it, but at rhe Leader price point I don't think it's for me.
Too bad, really. Always been a fan of the post-apocalyptic designs.

My Combiner Wars Leader Megatron begs to differ. No hollow parts, a missile launcher, excellent alt. mode with only one major cheat, working treads (the only alt. mode cheat being to allow this), and a gorgeous paintjob.

    He cost $40.

If there\'s no Evolution in the next fan stream, and it\'s all just ROTB, I\'d say I\'d be pissed, but movie fans are getting something dedicated to them, so I\'m always happy about that. My collection isn\'t movie-related outside of a few characters though, so I\'m hopin for Evolution wave 2. With the amount of already released Studio Series stuff in the past month, there\'s gotta be some stuff in that range.

Remember guys, this is based on the prelim art in that leaked book cover, hence why he looks odd compared to the trailer.

I  personally absolutely LOVE how odd his silhouette is and will 100% be picking this guy up. Only thing I don\'t like is the battle damage paint on the shoulders, but like with KD Galvatron, that can be looked over.

So as a NeverBay kind of fan, let me give it kudos. This is movie aesthetic, but has a new head design that is like a mask with geometric proportions that are instantly distinguishable and very distinctive. Almost reminiscent of *gasp* traditional Transformer designs. Not the usual head aesthetic of monster/bug/indistinguishable/Cronenbergian/Uncanny-Valley.

I'm curious to see more about it. And I think he looks like an awesome, MadMax baddie bot, which is along the lines of something I would have thought the live action movies should have done. Credit where it's due.

I agree with those who feel the pain of the cost. I am curious to see the reveal and see if this grows on me. Where I'm at, if I were going to pre-order anything else this year, I have my antennae twitched to see about the Legacy Skyquake or Armada Megatron. Or maybe neither. Leader class is spicy pricey.

Well. I feel like I shouted that question in 2007 and never stopped until I was hoarse. Now I have no further comment.

I need to get my CW stuff back out. Yeah some of it might be dated by now, but that Megatron was a fantastic figure. I remember how happy 13 year old me was when I found it after months of only seeing the Armada Megatron on shelves.

Definitely trying way too hard to look menacing and evil.

I think it'd be more clever if he had this design but was depicted as a whiny Megatron fanboy in the vein of Tarn or someone like Kylo Ren except actually written well. Edgy manchild that throws epic tantrums at the slightest inconveniences.

I will never understand why even the knock-off of that toy didn't add hinges on the front of the skirt, would make him perfect

Yeah, he's far from perfect given his limited articulation and the 'automorph' gimmick in the legs that prevented any ankle articulation was entirely unnecessary, but his mass and sculpt are absolutely sublime and he can pose where it counts.

That's just the mask - if you look closer, you can see a very Bayverse Megatron like mouth under there. The similarities to DOTM Megatron beyond that also continue to make me concerned since really, there's far more than a mere passing resemblance with this guy.

He may have been the last Leader figure I ever bought at retail and he's been towering above my Neo-G1 Decepticon roster/shelf for nearly a decade now, with CW Buzzsaw on his shoulder (while FOC Laserbeak is on Voy. FOC Soundwave's of course). In terms of a really imposing version of G1 Megatron outside of Masterpiece, I honestly don't think there's BEEN one since CW Megatron.

At that point he should have just been Tarn outright and the bad guys being the DJD. We know why they're not, but it's still kind of stupid given where the current continuity lies (if it isn't just retconned Bayverse crap all over again)

It still reminds me of a LOTR's Ringwraith which would be an ideal addition to my Dead-verse collection.

But there's no way in h3ll that I would pay $55+ for this figure if that's what Leader class is going for.

If Ollie's or Ross offers him for like $20 a year from now then this might end up as one of my Nemesis Prime's General's.

Not that they're trying to make it inaccurate. Figures take a while to design and such, at the start of a few figures namely for a movie, they base it off that first concept, which later is also used for marketing. It's technically not Hasbro's fault. It's the initial designers

The weird thing about all this is that there is no Mainline Scourge. I recall back in the aftermath of AoE where Hasbro reps flat out admitted they didn't plan on a Stinger toy, despite him being one of the more prominent antagonists in any capacity, because Hasbro didn't think people didn't want a toy of a villain.

I think Hasbro's forgotten that you need bad guys in your toyline for the good guys to fight. Again.

Starting to think Scourge isn't his real name. That or it isn't his real face. Depending on his role it's possible he's the Tarn of the Movieverse. A devoted follower to the cause that is the Terrorcons. So he's leading them, but not their leader. And that's not his face, but rather a mask repping the logo much like Tarn's.

May explain why both Tarn and Leo Prime are in the wave dropping in stores at the moment. Get them out in front of general audiences ahead of RotB where we'll have Scourge and a potential Beast Prime.

Many times, at least for in my case, I prefer the villain’s design to the hero’s so it makes even less sense

Still wanting him, but like most of everyone else, probably will get him on sale. That, and see if an Upgrade kit happens.
