Yeah no this guy doesn't give Cyclonus vibes at all, the TLK Voyager of Megatron gives more Cyclonus views than this.

 

Arguably, i've felt for some time that modern deluxes had more in common with the older rotf scout class toys than actual deluxes, besides their price class of course

Because we know scourge and bot mode doesn't do the alt mode justice. You don't think since he copies alt mode rid 2000 scourge, his bot mode should too?

I mean aside from being a truck it isn't really the same. It's a reference or neat homage but that's about it.

 

I don’t criticize this figure for not looking like Scourge (even though it doesn’t). I just don’t think it looks very good. It gives me more of a LOTR vibe, to be honest— which isn’t very Transformers-like.

 

For me my main problem is just it's like AOE Prime and Galvatron where it lacks alt-mode kibble in robot mode. Which is odd since all the others have alt-mode kibble on them.

True but you could say the same thing for Battletrap yet he clearly doesn’t look like G1 Battletrap (he looks better imo). It’s not the first time these movies have changed a alt mode of a character from their og or one of their depictions. Yet the robot mode looks nothing like them or a different version of them.

 

Yeah, it’s disappointing that most of the truck is just folded up, shell-forming style on his back.

Agreed, with really no kibble in robot mode resulting also in it being harder to translate into a toy. Which is odd since the other characters don’t do this. Wish he looked like that fan made redesign someone did.
