Yeah, I rarely even bother with the mainline stuff anymore. It's insane how expensive it is for nothing imo. Might as well get a better figure, with actual paint in a bigger size for the same or cheaper price.

I received the "leader" SS Fallen for Christmas. While it's a better figure than the previous voyager, it's basically just a Voyager at a leader price. Look at dotm Sentinel Prime or rotf Prime. Those were $40 bucks tops? I know inflation and all that and that was x amount of years ago but that's what I compare leader class figures to. So yeah, big pass from me until something better comes out.

That's a bit of an overreaction and sorry the design doesn't work for you.

But other than the neck and the grill, it looks like.a fun toy and decently accurate considering how impossible and cheaty his on-screen design looks to be

These two are still missing:

I wonder if his mask is removable like The Fallen's.
And they really screwed up the alt mode:
- too long
- no fuel tank on the left, no toolbox on the right
- no rear fenders
- open gaps in the hood
- and the bullbar   (I first thought it's a fake part in robot mode, what I usually don't like, but in this case I would have actually preferred it - looks completely odd in alt mode)
Maybe an upgrade kit will be able to fix some of these issues but that shouldn't be necessary.

 

don’t get me wrong as a toy this looks great, engineering seems fun and the claw will be super fun to mess with, but he’s just too spindly to pull off the vibe the rest of the character is going for. I think I overreacted a bit cause I thought that was how his head actually looks which leaves me even more perplexed because literally every Studio Series headsculpt is spot-on and then there’s just this one.

also i didn’t mention it before but they butchered the altmode. why are the smokestacks so far apart it throws off the whole thing. both from the cab and from each other

just for $50+ an accurate head would help let alone a bigger/beefier/more engineering-requiring character in that price slot

Yeah it’s really weird how they managed to make the truck inaccurate to the film. The robot mode I get probably changed in ver time but the truck? It hasn’t changed in well over a year at all.

 

I\'m not sure if I\'m sold on this being the studio series version it may be a mainline release 

 

Leader Class my assicon.

* Chicken legs.
* Virtually zero paint apps.
* Hollowed out thighs and smokestacks.
* Back of vehicle mode is SS Voyager Galvatron 2.0 mess.
* Both the height and mass are just NOT warranting the Leader Class price point. And I don't want to hear *but the parts count and complexity!" Because NEITHER is there.

But you can get all of the above for the glorious price of $55.99.

Just ugh.

 

It's looks like you can get it into some cool poses but those proportions in both modes are pretty rough for a Leader class.

 

to be fair: the legs in truck mode look good they just look terrible when they add those megaman gun things

everything else you said i 100% wholeheartedly agree with HOW is this a leader class figure

 

DOTM Megs has nothing on Scourge's alt mode. Hollow rear aside, this guy looks sick.
