The price increases combined with continously shrinking of figures has gotten too fucking insane

 

Idk he just doesn’t look close to as complex as blackout or grindor from what I can see. His legs don’t even have more than 1 transformation step from the look of it.

He also has a lot less plastic mass than blackout from what’s visible.

 

Reckon he would look good next to ss fallen?

 

Glorified Voyager with hollow thighs and obvious clip-on wheels. Someone upthread unfavorably compared this to the AoE leaders, but even the those got pinned wheels and nice springy panels to fill in gaps.

To be fair, by Studio Series standards, 2007/2009 Megatron was a pretty large voyager (Especially when considering SS Shockwave was sold at a leader Price Point).

 

The torso looks pretty up there and I don't see why the legs look to have to be any more complex than what they seem.
Other than the torso that has mass due to the the design the rest of him are super flimsy and is nothing than a bunch of thin and very flimsy panels. Aside from the forearms who are just clunky.

 

All that really tells me is that leaders have been tiny. Starscream released in the same wave as 09 Megatron and is the same height.

And yeah I didn’t see Shockwave as a proper leader either, especially being basically rotf Megs.

 

Oh yeah there is also Shockwave who seems to just be leader for his paint budget.

 

Anything Mad Max inspired I'm a sucker for. Didn't think I would like the look of this guy seeing him in the trailer and nothing stood out to me from his design. But this might be a first for me where the toy looks better than what he actually looks like or at least what I saw.

 

He looks great, but I really doubt THAT'S the truck bed properly transforms. It's a good contender for worst truck back end with SS Movie Galvatron.

And I do feel his legs are too thin. Hopefully his actual movie design thickens up. But hell his truck cab goes hard as hell.

 

I love his presence alone. Something about him being tall and skinny makes him very chilling.

 

Yeah, no way that bed's transformed properly. His thighs clearly have a 5th wheel molded on to them.
And the image of his alt mode doesn't have that where it should be.

Likely missed a waist rotation or something.

 

Hmmm, I’m not seeing any hinges that could bring them together, so might just be sculpted in detail for bot mode.

Hm, not a bad Voyager rendition of this design. I mean, the truck mode's a little messy (though could be mistransformed) and it's rear is comically elongated, as a result of the legs having almost no transformation, but for a Voyager, it's actually pretty decent.

Looks hella badass. I think that rear section is transformed properly looking at the production stills of the picture car used.

I wouldn't consider them to be "short leaders" though.

Sure they might not be as tall, but they make up for it with mass. The Sikorsky bros are beefy boys.
