Yes, this picture doesn’t do the figure any favors. But it seems some on the forums still can’t decipher a horribly mistransformed leak from the final product.

My take: even though this picture looks a mess, there looks to be a lot of engineering that went into the chest.

It makes me hopeful that when transformed properly, this figure will overall clean up quite nicely, and may be a rare case where the first take on a live action character in toy form might be really close to the final design.
