Never knew how bad I wanted Metalhawk. Literally no connection or history with the character at all but the toy just looks so nice!

 

A little factoid, on the being heroic, his VA in the original Mf anime was the same actor who voiced Ken the Eagle aka Gatchaman ( the original prototype/inspiration of Sentai).

 

WSX, is that your Metalhawk? How's it's metal? Mine still is shiny and hasn't corroded yet.

 

Hahah. This is exactly the kind of thing a toy should do, eh? It's just so cool that even with no idea of the character, you still go, "I want that."

I think for me the four voices that brought me the most amusement in the Masterforce anime were Roadking being voiced by the original Devimon, Giga being voiced by the original voice actor for Great Mazinger's Tsurugi Tetsuya, Black Zarak being voiced by Gihren Zabi, and Shuta's voice actress currently voicing Princess Heles from Granblue Fantasy.

 

Yup! All those anime legends. Yumi Touma aka Deedlith, Ivy (yup, from Soul Calibur  shows the range from heroic to kinda villainess),Ling Xiayou etc etc 

 

Onto eBay he goes.

Okay, taking a hint from the toy itself, I added a 5mm peg to the side of the handle so my sword can store on top on vehicle mode.

You know, that not a bad alternative.
Wouldn't be any more bulky looking than the original shells either.
I'm imagining it would be something like Siege / Kingdom Ultra Magnus

 

Is it me or is the nosecone longer on the CGI mockup than it is on the final product?

 

Possible, but I'm also wondering if it's a perspective distortion thing, because the backend also looks a lot smaller on the render than on the pic.

It's a shame Twincast comes in the plastic free packaging. If Blaster packaging is any indication, Rewind will be looted from the box in the same way Eject was. Boo.

 

Probably the image is shortened for fitting with the packaging.  

 

Yeah the longer nosecone looks better .
