Looking to get Metalhawk. For some reason I feel better seeing a Pretender based solely on the inner robot. One of the reasons I liked the TFCC Bludgeon, though would have preferred a tank alt mode.

There's no way that Thunderwing will be a retool of, well, anyone. He was the main villain in one of the most popular arcs in the Marvel comic (and arguably the best villain of the entire comic) and a well-known nemesis of Powermaster Optimus Prime (who is bound to become a Commander Class next time).

Commander Class Thunderwing is the only choice and is a perfect one since they can actually implement the Pretender gimmick properly at that (and then they can think on making a Sky Shadow repaint).

Well, feel free to disagree. I can't stop you. But I do think a voyager class shell with a Core Class robot is doable.

This is good in all.  Just needs a Pretender shell.  That could have happened with Grand Maximus if there was more pre orders for it back then.

i'd be down for separate pretender shells that are little core class sized non-transforming action figures. since the pretenders mass-shift anyways.

It's possible but a Core Class is entirely too small for a Pretender robot as they were all at least normal sized Transformer characters. There's no way a puny core sized Metalhawk would make this one obsolete.

I actually like the consistency of Rewind also being translucent. If you're going to do random shit, at least coordinate it. Twincast looks great. Metalhawk is TBD.

Not sure WTF is going on here. On Blaster, the visible part of that handle is all one piece. How did it end up three different colors here?

    wtf_layout_is_this.jpg

Also seems like it should've been possible to swap the gun and the two handle pieces.

It would if all the Pretenders were the same size. The fact Metalhawk will tower over most of the other Legacy Pretenders now makes this one awkward already.

I think they'd be fine. $10 core class figure paired with a $20 shell should work. Other core class figures can be the inner robots that aren't able to fit the assortment slots. Deluxes can be reserved for other Transformers from that era like Powermasters. Leaders can be the Ultra Pretenders.

Oh, I see, you're confused. Usually when they cast something in the wrong color (1), they paint over it with the right color (2). The grey in this case is neither the base color nor the correct color but it's still another color (3). Sucks because Blaster is a really good figure but Twincast is going to have an easily avoided problem.

I don't think you can really have Masterforce-accurate Pretenders in one single toy. Whether the shells and inner robots are nearly the same size, or the shell forms are *smaller* than the inner robots - either way, you have to pick a poison.

So I would be totally cool with this Metalhawk as the "solo" robot and then later get a full-sized shell with a mini-robot to go inside it.

Clearly, the plastic is red. So I'm guessing the black and gray are paint. Like I said earlier, if I can find an extra Blaster, I'll slap Blaster's black plastic handle onto Twincast.
