I'm so glad we're finally getting a figure of the resurrected Billy. Now, we need his nemesis, New Soundwave.

This really worries me too. I'm having flashbacks of when I first saw Siege Optimus Prime in robot mode and was so stoked for a G1 looking Optimus Prime, only to be utterly disappointed when I saw the alt mode.

For me, it depends on how well the repaint/retool works. The parts reuse between Cliffjumper and Bumblebee worked well. I wouldn't complain if Hasbro retooled that mold again to give us Bumber (Bumblejumper).

But other times it doesn't work that well. I'm just not feeling the Elita-1 mold for Minerva. I'll still buy it if I can find it, because I'm a Japanese G1 junkie.

Yeah, I'm so glad they BOTH look weird instead of just one of them.

 

I hope Twincast winds up at Ollie\'s like Blaster did,  so I can get Rewind to go along with Eject at a not entirely unreasonable price. 

 

I almost spent $100+ on Titans Return Metalhawk last year, and now I do NOT regret passing on that figure.

 

The yellow face on twincast is not my cup of tea..

 

Metalhawk looks great, I'm glad they didn't try to force some kind of hybrid shell/inner robot homage in there like they have with the others. Definite buy. Now I'm only concerned that being a Voyager makes him too big scale-wise...

 

So now we are going to have Heroic Autobot Rewind and Shattered Glass Evil Autobot Rewind. Looking foward to Metalhawk never got any version of him in the past. His Titans Return version has too much Gold that the Gold Syndrome could effect. 

 

Good news that it seems rewind is cast in black plastic while the chest is red, shame we dont get the retooled double chest though.

 

Metalhawk looks great! So glad he doesn't have the spindly idw design, I was never a fan of it.

 

Now, I wish I had picked up an extra Blaster at Ollie's when they had him there for $20. If I'm being nit-picky, I don't like how Twincast's boom box handles are black paint over red plastic. That said, if it gives us all the other appropriate parts in red plastic, then that was a good compromise. Like I said, it's an easy swap if I can just get an extra Blaster.

He had a yellow face in the cartoon. The original toy had silver. I could go either way.

I don't think the gold plastic of TR Metalhawk will be a problem. It's not the same kind of gold plastic at all.

 

The scale is correct. The Pretenders are supposed to mass shift up in bot mode.

 

yeah the gold plastic stuff stopped around 2015 with UW Motormaster. Yellowing's all the rage now.

You know what I just realized (and maybe others have already mentioned this)? This Voyager wave is going to consist of two guys who both have yellow chests, blue arms, and red highlights. That’s gonna make for a pretty homogeneous appearance on the shelves, haha. I mean… if I ever actually saw Voyagers on a shelf, that is…

 

While Pretenders do mass shift from the size of humans to giant robots, I never thought they were Voyager sized. To me, the Pretender robot modes look closer to Deluxe size (Prowl, Jazz, etc.) than Voyager (Optimus Prime, Blaster, etc.)

 

Still surprised we haven't seen Shrapnel yet. I figured he would've been leaked with the other 3 deluxes.

 

Will Metalhawk, Twincest, and Scourge be the only reveals tomorrow and will everyone cry that there was nothing new shown?

A bit disappointed Metalhawk is straight inner robot, but Kingdom Cyclonus being the base figure makes up for that. Hopefully it doesn't have the floppiness of the Selects version of Cyclonus.

 

Damn… was hoping Hasbro would give us Steeljaw or Ramhorn at least. Cheap bastards.
