Except for how it's the ultimate embodiment of Grimlock, I agree.

really? Than I'd like to know what real life counterpart Bay kept Scorponok and Ravage in Scale with? You do realize that the Dinobots are in Scale to Cybertronians not Earth humans or dinos right?

Michael Bay is good at what he does. Which is he never fails to disappoint.

As you can see with my username and avatar, Grimlock is my favorite TF of all time. Needless to say, I'm stoked that Grimlock is in the next live action movie.

Was hoping for at least *a little bit* of retro G1 design aesthetic. But instead we get more of the same old Michael Bay (exploding>>>) shit on a stick.

I'll reserve final judgment until later. But I'm not happy as of right now.

Figured so. After all Triceratops have a different jaw shape the T-Rex's.

Anyway Grimlock does have strong elements of a Russian Cossack on him as well as some Arabic and barbarian aspects included. I wonder if he'll have a Russian accent? Would be interesting if he did.

It's not Slag, and even if it was, he would not have teeth and would not be named Slag ;)

Actually, Ravage was the size of an Earthen big cat, but your point is still correct. These are clearly robotic recreations, not intended to match the size of the original.

    "Iconic"?

G1 Grimlock is a generibland grey robot with a faceplate and no identifiable tyrannosaur parts besides the puny widdle arms.

And I'm gonna say no to your opinion of the movie "look." Bay (or rather his designers) has made what was originally a clunky, generic aesthetic into something interesting, just as Beast Wars, DJW, Alex Milne, and Prime have done.

The movies rake in hundreds of millions of dollars and you're telling me that fans and casual viewers alike don't connect with it?

Pleased that so many of you like this, but (like the dino mode) I'm sorry to say that I don't. Just looks like a giant rock monster. I guess I just want Transformers to look like mechanical robots again.

Thank you! That's what it reminded me of. I knew it looked like something but I couldn't remember what.

In any case, that's about what I expected. Not impressed at all.

The guy's entitled to his own opinion, as are you.

In any case, I agree with him. It's been beaten into the ground, but I think the movie designs are an uninspired, garbled mess. Like someone wadded up a sheet of aluminum foil and gave it a head, arms and legs and called it Megatron.

Yes, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But we're still allowed to discuss the merits of each opinion in a discussion.

I like the idea but still not really much info to make a call on it.

honestly it really reminds me of Primes Predaking but hey I'm going to keep open minded about it for now.

All I have to say is I love how those that don't like it and even hate it are getting all worked up over a blacked out figure with no real detail. No I'm not saying anyone should like it or love it. To each their own. But at least wait till we see the designs in real CGI.

:popcorn  Cue the people who struggle with any modern TF design which doesn't look like a man wearing cardboard boxes.

It's certainly more... Warhammery than I expected. Still, til we see it both in detail and, most importantly, in motion, it's difficult to have much of an opinion..

Just wondering, as I must be missing the connection, how does it look warhammery?? Not trying to rag or anything, just wanted to understand your point of view. :D
