No no no. Buzz Saw became (part of) Injector. The Predacon Fuzors are all pre-existing characters, mixed with the DNA of another animal:

Jetstorm (Dragonfly) + Lizard = Sky Shadow
Buzz Saw (Hornet) + Lion Fish = Injector
Snapper (Snapping Turtle) + Alligator = Terragator
Manterror (Mantis) + Lizard = Buzzclaw
Scorponok (Scorpion) + Cobra = Quickstrike

This is my theory of how the Hasbro Designers came up with them.

It could be fun fodder for a new take on a Beast Wars story down the line. Tarantulas experimenting on his crew mates, turning them into other bots.

Alright another member for the Predacon B-Team. 

 

Whereas I'm not as tempted by the new Waspinator (not because it's bad, but I already have the Thrilling 30 figure.... several of them if you count the botcon Waruders) I'll probably pick this guy up.

 

I know we’re getting Bug Bite, but I hope we get more like Skywasp plus some Terrorsaur and Scorponok repaints. Lazorbeak, Fractyl, Sandstorm (mentioned by leakers), and Double Punch. These guys being made into the general rank and file Predacons of my collection would please me.

 

As a kid I had Buzzsaw and only bought Waspinator later as adult. I have a massive (relative to most people’s feelings toward the toy) soft spot for this guy. It all comes down to the headsculpt for me here - from what we can see, it seems pretty different than the original. The basic parts are there, but I don’t see toy buzzsaw at the moment. If better pics change that, I’m all in

 

That's only half of it since the rest of the BW line carried through with more of the non-show characters into Transmetal 2 with Scarem (Insecticon), Iguanus, Cybershark, and Spittor (you could argue Sonar and Bat Primal).

Yes, it was nice to see some familiar names return for the TM2 line.

I'm glad to hear it. It's just a theory of course, but it lines up pretty perfectly.

 

Probably just poor photography, but the colors look off to me, Should be a bright yellow instead of dull pearly yellow, Strong purple instead of dark blue/indigo, and the transparent bits should be a much lighter/brighter green, rather than so dark it borders on black.

 

They may be going down the 'real world' route unfortunately. The same reason we didn't get a spotty Grimlock.

 

The fact that they're using different colors for the translucent plastic in the beast head/bot torso, instead of just painting the bug eyes, already elevates versions of Kingdom Waspinator above versions of the T30 mold.

 

That pic is just another reminder that those fat bug legs are still such a mess to me anyway, I greatly prefer how the T30s legs lay far more flush to his robot limbs.

 

Yeah, I think I agree--the head doesn't seem "right", but we'll have to wait and see future images. I'm waiting for the inevitable PrimeVsPrime video to come out.

And I'm still bitter.

 

That could be right, though from what I see right now, the colors still mirror the original toy, just with the brightness and saturation knobs turned down.
