We have massive ROTF press coverage in most major malls etc here in Malaysia! :D
TF2 FTW! .... and to rule the theaters with the 175 million bucks (or more). :D  :rock
Bay would :bay  up the competition. :D  Terminator Salvation is left in the wake of ROTF dust.... :D

According to Box Office Mojo, there are only 6 films that broke $150 million after their first 7 days in theaters. So for ROTF to be tracking at $160+ million over 5 days sure looks to be a good sign. $400 is a real possibility.

Australia has minimal posters at cinemas, I am yet to see a TV spot on TV and you have to be lucky to catch the right movie to see a preview.

Its not often people call out and cheer in cinemas in Australia but when the preview came on before Star Trek there was heaps of kids like 'OH MY GOD, DAD CAN WE SEE THAT' and I have mates who didn't even know a second movie was being made.

If ROTF makes that much money, Bay may not get that one year break he was hoping for. This is a cash cow not only for Paramount but Hasbro as well. It will be right back to work Mr Bay! TF3 June 2011!!

I doubt this since the movie will compete with two heavy hitters in just a few days later. "Public Enemies" has both Christian "Batman" Bale and Johnny Depp and directed by Michael Mann
Many people would take Mann's movies over Bay's action films. Trust me, I would.

There's also Ice Age 3 which kids will go to instead of a robot bashfest..

Public Enemies will not make half of the box office ROTF will, and is not a threat. Different target audiences, and ROTF will have more repeat business.

Well, as we have seen, not everything Bale is gold, as Terminator Salvation did not even beat Night at the Museum 2, and Mann is a great director, but personally, I have found his films better on DVD since they are easier to follow privately and when you can pause it.

Ice Age 3 just seems wrong so that might not have the draw it used to. I can see TF ROTF at least breaking $150M Weds-Fri (and possibly Tuesday Night Early Showings)

Michael Mann? Seriously? I find your reasoning highly questionable. Mann has only ever had a single film break the $100 million mark. And none of his films have ever opened with more than $25 million.

Christian Bale and Johnny Depp typically only pull in the money in serialized movies, such as Batman or Pirates. Check out their box office totals for movies done between the Batmans or between Pirates. For the most part, those movies struggled to take $50 million total domestic. The fact that Public Enemies is an era piece will also keep it's box office totals down.

Ice Age 3 will be more of a competitor, but it's no match for the advertising and merchandise monster that is Transformers. The box office will be closer, but Transformers will still have reign at the top.

I think they are underestimating the power of the matrix.

    Box office breaking time again.

Not to sound like a :noob  or anything, but when they say it's "tracking" well, what are they referring to?

Searches online or something like that?

And Public Enemies is rated R. It so won't be a threat,Ice Age 3 seems to have a pathetic amount of marketing going on IMO,and I don't think it will pose much of a threat either.

Not going to happen until 2012. Bay's going to take that year off.
