Finally got this one done. What forearms and hands to use were holding me up and it just got back burnered. But looking at Popeye art, I knew they HAD to be quite large...I wasn't going for realism.

Anyway, take a peek. I'm quite happy with the end result.

Holy crap! That totally works as a realistic interpretation of the cartoon character.

Did you make a can of spinach to go with it?

    Just happened.

I remember seeing something like this a few years back:

and thinking that was a pretty realistic adaptation. Your work evokes that same impression. And yours is poseable. Fantastic.

Wow! Thanks everyone! I wasn't expecting much interest in a non-TF custom.

Part wise? Base figure was a Tunnel Rat. Used his torso, upper arms and lower legs. A custom cast head by, I think, Stuccos, on a modded in double neck joint. Forearms are a combo of MU Hercules trimmed a bit then gauntlets removed and then some musculature worked in with fists from a 6" DCUC figure. Upper legs are two Shipwreck left legs and feet are off MU AbsorbingMan converted to rocker style. Then just making all the parts work together and some paint. :)

If the head sculpt had had an open mouth, I most certainly would've made a can of spinache with the spinache flying up into the air and back down into his mouth. :D
