First Image Of Genndy Tartakovsky's CG Popeye - Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors
that looks damned good. ... and here I was fully expecting to hate it. I recently acquired a dvd set of the old Fleischer Popeye's, which are brilliant, and I was thinking 'here's something that modern animation could never replicate'. Popeye's one of those old franchises that's probably been bad for way longer than it was good. There were so many tired rehashes over the years. This looks like something that might actually work.

I know it's just an image, but from what I can see it doesn't look too bad. Good to see that a few modern CG features are starting to break the mold of the conventional look (Lego Movie, Peanuts movie and now this).
