Magnus isn't what we get now though, he's a cpl of years old at mp22 and we're gonna hit mp40 soon, there's also just a waist swivel in difference I think? Hardly 'leagues' but if you're happy with that limitation on Optimus Prime tho that's cool, your prerogative but others would like him with ALL bells and whistles for some epic stances. Let's not forget you don't have to buy a hypothetical v3.

I still think it'll happen in time. It'll be like it came out of the 86 movie, it'll be articulated to the eyeballs and it'll sell like hot cakes. I bet it'll even have the option of the side abs damage from the Megatron fight to match Meg's v2 battle damage.

I'm happy with MP-10. I don't think we will ever get a 100% screen accurate Prime, at least not one that is transformable.

You're not being fair. Putting Optimus' sleek design next to the bulkiest character design translated into an MP does not make for a good comparison
Hot Rod 2.0 or Star Saber would have been better examples.

I'm not understanding what you're saying here.

I don't think a new Inferno is as financially viable as a new Optimus, just hazarding a guess here.

    How about a head comparison?

    What I'm seeing on MP-10:
    • Different, boxier brim piece
    • Notches on the earmuffs (This design addition comes from Studio OX Optimus)
    • Different mouth plate that point down instead of up (MP-1, Classics, and many other G1 Primes get this right). The mouth plate pointed down during the pilot at times, but in most of the cartoon -and more importantly, in the entirity movie- it pointed up.

MP-10 is the benchmark used for sizing MP scaled transformers, including 3rd party, more or less.

the g1 figure has vastly superior colors to the masterpiece figure.

masterpiece figures should be improving upon both the g1 toy, and the cartoon. it was mixing their best features. a figure called a "masterpiece" should be a masterpiece.

See that's valid, but high end robot toylines all recreate cartoon/anime appearances.

Soul of Chogokin (The line that inspired and pioneered toylines like Masterpiece) only does anime recreations anymore, it's what sells.

I would definitely get a V3. I've never been on board with the love fest that people have for MP10. He has always looked bad to me, yeah I own him but that's cuz he's all we got. The legs are poor, arms are terrible and the feet look weird. He's the least played with MP I own, so yeah, sign me up!

You are just reading my mind completely. That's exactly what I thought when I saw Megs' battle damage.

But yeah let's face it, this is Optimus we're talking about, I think a new version will come inevitably, just like how Soul of Chogokin always redoes Mazinger Z (Who coincidentally has a new anime accurate mold coming!)
