Hi everyone! If this has been done before, just redirect me there and ignore this. But if not else, maybe an update is in order? Pick which continuity that is the definite TF canon for you, and write your motivation below!

 

Great idea for a topic! When I have more time, I will post a proper reply. Suffice to say, Beast Wars & the amalgamated G1 history that goes along with it is the definitive version for me.

 

At the moment, IDW.

 

Much as I dislike it, G1.

 

G1 through Japanese G1 (ignore USA headmasters) with a strong dash of IDW especially MTMTE when it fits.

 

I have two :Movies and Animated.

 

Animated. A lively Cybertron populated with all sorts of Bots while powerful Cons still run amok causing havok in space with tons of weird planets to see.

Animated. Only piece of TF fiction/media I even like.

You left off an option: All of them. Each continuity is equally valid in the multiverse.

 

IDW, but if ask me, anything G1 is canon.

 

My own headcannon, which is my Hearts of Plastic Universe. I tend to first think of characters based on that world... a world where Movie Jazz is alive and dating Asajj Ventress, Movie Arcee is engaged to Movie DoubleDealer and they have a son (Clouder, who most likely more powerful than Unicron and Primus), Movie Optimus is a G1 fanboy, WFC Megs and Optimus are gay lovers, and Classics Grimlock gets excited when any new Dinobot shows interest in him.

After that? Movie, WFC/FOC, and IDW universes are my definitives.

 

Valid point. However, there were only 13 options for the poll, maybe I should have left out one of the obscure continuities? Or maybe "head canon" works for you?

Gotta go with G1 Cartoon Western but spliced with a bit of the G1 Marvel comic & G1 Dreamwave comic...l have this strange love for the splinter faction that l try to always incorporate in my displays... my purchasing is neo-Western G1 based but l will pick up characters that don't meet that criteria but were part of those splinter factions...

 

Anything but Movieverse.

 

I picked IDW, because to me, that's gone beyond just being G1 as a comic and has become the Ultimate sort of universe, where all the ideas get blended in and make one nice piece of art.

Ya got Lockdown, a character created in Animated, with a design based off of his Movie toy. Not to mention Lugnut makes a couple of cameos. Don't forget a bunch of characters using their FOC/WFC designs. And Starscream making himself look like his ever sexy Armada self. Waspinator and Rattrap are both around. Then there's Flatline, who looks very much like his (beautiful) movie self. To me, the IDW comics are the melting pot that distills all the best stuff from each branch of Transformers.

But like others, I believe all universes, from G1, to the Unicron Trilogy, to the Movies, are equal.

Why?

 

US Sunbow G1. No question.

I like many of the others, but if only one could exist, that would definitely be the "real" one for me.
