I really didn't expect this...

 

Amusingly enough, that's exactly what I expected.

 

So are we expecting the producer of a movie that goes to events about the movies to just say "no, get out of here" when questioned by journalists?

 

I expect him to give clear answers, not waffle on, and on going off on weird tangents. Lorenzo may aswell tell them to get out because never answers questions properly.

 

Lorenzo is that guy at your office who overhears a single snippet of a conversation two people are talking about and instantly creates an entire story out of it and claims it is true.

Co-Worker One: So did you watch The Fellowship of the Ring again yesterday? I know you mentioned you wanted to show it to Becky last night

Co-Worker Two: Totally. And she loved it!

Co-Worker One: Told you she would.

Co-Worker Two: Yeah, we even watched (They walk passed Lorenzo who is eating his tuna sandwich in the breakroom) the sequel last night.

Co-Worker One: (now out of ear shot of Lorenzo) Man, she must really have enjoyed it.

This is beyond a landslide, and a little embarassing...

Not ONE person wants him around enough to press a little button, yet here we are, debating his involvement in future films?

I expected this. from what I have seen around these boards people really hate him. I am neutral though so I have no real opinion.

 

i dunno, kinda weird that a franchise exists where fans dislike someone nearly 100:1 yet they're kept around for a decade?

so youre point is that he's still at paramount so hes doing something right?

 

My point is that I don't understand why he's still around as pretty much the exclusive spokesperson... whenever a piece of news comes out, it's from his mouth, yet no one likes him it seems. So why is he the one doing it?

Why don't they have a creative co-ordinator who oversees all the media to do that job, someone who the fans respond better to, someone who pays attention more clearly to what's going on creatively behind the scenes and can communicate with both the fandom and general audience at large?

i'm actually asking honestly, I'm genuinely curious and don't understand why this fandom can be so unanimous about certain things they dislike, yet be ignored.

I swear he always seems to go on these fits of rage in interviews. “Oooooo I don’t like “REBOOOTT”” OOOOO??? What does it mean???? Ooooooo oohhhh myyyy.... I- I- don’t like that.... mmmm TLK SEQUEL?! YESSSS! I LIKE THAT!!!”

 

Lorenzo has been going around putting his foot in it long before Transformers hit it big in Hollywood. I can only assume that he actually does get things done behind the scenes, and doesn’t cause the amount of chaos there, as he does with his terrible interview style.

But yeah it would be nice to have a different spokesperson, just someone competent at getting their point across regardless of whether you agree or not.

 

as much as i dont like lorenzo i feel he gets more hate than he deserves, people get really toxic about him. i disagree with pretty much everything he says but the level of aggression of some people here is immature

 

Yeah I don’t hate him I just think he’s not the guy that should be jetting around to every premier waffling on about stuff.

I think the people who get really toxic towards him think he has more creative control than he does.

 

I don't know much about the guy. Based on the hate he gets, I think I'm better off...

 

I personally believe the franchise should go on without him.
