I remember watching the first film. It was funny. The premise of a bunch of eccentrics joining the police force and actually proving they have what it takes - against a couple of by-the-book jocks - was quite nice. I especially enjoyed Mahoney and Larvell with their antics, as well as the Blue Oyster Club members.

And this makes me miss Bubba Smith and Hightower.

Wow, 30 years? Man, I feel old. My wife loves the Police Academy movies (yeah, she's a keeper :D ), at least the earlier films in the series. We still like to hum the Blue Oyster theme to one another just to make each other laugh. Good times! And that podium scene with the Commandant, priceless and is one of her favorite skits in the whole series! :lol

Yeah, I feel old too now.

Though the PG entries never really bothered me as back then I was too young to bitch about the slow movie to a more family friendly franchise. Nevertheless, Part 1-4 are the definitely the best.

    Bobcat and Sweetchuck FTW!

I'm okay with a Police Academy remake. I vote Shaq for Hightower.

This movie's great. I love the guy who does the sound effects the most.
