Reports are from early gameplay that Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl will NOT have a National Dex, meaning that Nintendo is STILL on my shit list (after snubbing Doom Slayer over Sora for Smash) and that I will be skipping Gen 8 COMPLETELY

    DexIt still lives apparently

It was pretty clear that they weren’t going beyond Gen 4 in the game.

Serebii reports that TMs are back to 1 time use and not unlimited like it's been since gen 5.

The limited TMs are going to be a massive pain in the ass. That alone makes me question getting the game because personally, I never used them when playing the older games. They were either one-offs in the wild or super expensive and it doesn't look to me like we'll have a way to farm cash.

I personally don’t care about the TMs, for me I can’t even think of a time I used one more than once. Serebii says there’s opportunities to get more anyway so we’ll see what that means.

What ticks me off is the return of the permanent EXP Share. Like if you want the boosted exp to be permanent, WHY is it a separate item and not something you’ve just coded into exp gains? Making it an item that cannot be turned off or thrown away/sold is stupid and really defeats the purpose of it being an item at all.

Not gonna lie, if the one time TMs return, that might actually kill my interest in the remakes…

Edit: As in the TMs that have only one for the entire game.

The one time TM is a disappointment but if I could do home transfers to SW/SH if the Pokémon is available in that game. No big deal. Obviously that would mean starters can’t go over for this trick.

That sucks Metalryde, also i wish they would stop giving game stop stuff to distribute and go online only for this sort of thing.

As for the remakes I can deal with one time use TMNs, just gotta be extra picky on who gets them. as for the always on EXP share there is a work around and given that they are apparently keeping the access your pokemon boxes on the fly from sword and shield it is easier than it it might have been to do.

So no National Dex (again), no Mega Evolutions (again), and back to disposable one-use TMs. Way to fuck over a longtime fan AGAIN Nintendo, as if snubbing Doom Slayer wasn’t insulting enough

Nintendo re-adds all Pokemon and Mega Evolutions for Gen 9 (and Doom Slayer in Smash 7), and I will

I get your issues with the lack of a national dex and no infinite use TMs but given that mega evolution did not come until two gens later and they have said all along they were staying as accurate to gen 4 as possible, I can't see how any one expected Mega evolution would be in.

That said i do like mega evolution as much as the next guy but i feel it is time to let it go until we get a remake of X and Y.

We still had Megas in Gen 7 (AND Lets Go) so it was stupid of Nintendo not to keep them in still for Gen 8

I agree with you, but the fact remains it is not likely we will see them again any time soon.
