I'd just rather get the other halves and be able to make them properly.

Still haven't checked out Sword/Shield but lock down might end up helping me find the time to pick one of those up. Just picked Snap back up though, and getting my friend to do the Squirtle->Mankey->Switch unlock almost broke us.

    FINALLY.

As I've mentioned in this thread before, I've never actually shiny-hunted in any Pokémon game, mainly because I was never able to complete the Pokedex and get the Shiny Charm until Sword. I also never came across any Shiny in any Pokémon game, except for the storyline Red Gyarados in Gold and the Shiny Magikarp event in Sword. Never encountered one in the wild, even by accident.

After getting the Shiny Charm in Sword, I tried breeding a crapload of eggs using the Masuda method, but no luck. So I picked a common Pokémon to constantly hunt and get my battle numbers up so I could increase my chances. I feel like I’ve been hunting Zigzagoon forever, but last night I finally got a Shiny. Took 678 encounters, most of those after getting the charm. I can’t believe some people do this for EVERY Pokémon   Seems like a LOT of work.

Been skimming it when the Japanese episodes comes out. Its not bad, more like a anthology series.

Ash also gets some powerhouses for his team, some callbacks to pokemon he almost had that he does have now.

What's also interesting is the usage of the Pokemon Master Rankings from Sword and Shield being implemented. As well as visually seeing in world Raids from Pokemon GO and Max Raids from Sword and Shield.

There's also no linear plot, its just them hopping back and forth to different regions for different reasons.

Congrats on your first shiny! Yeah, I've found it to be an absolute pain to shiny hunt in SwSh, even with the shiny charm. Gen 6 & 7 were so easy to farm shinies using chain fishing, horde battles, S.O.S calling and Masuda breeding.....in a way, it is kind of nice that they're reintroduced a bit of difficulty to the process though.

Through the 1000's of hours I've put into the games from Gen 2 (when shinies were released) to Gen 8, I've only ever accidentally stumbled across a small handful of shiny Pokémon via random encouter with full odds, which made those a bit more special and memorable for me because they were completely down to chance.

    My "dumb luck" shinies were:

    • Giraffarig - Lake of Rage in Silver (out of balls & had to run away)
    • Drowzee - Route 15 in LeafGreen (caught)
    • Pidgey - small route next to Celadon in LeafGreen (used Whirlwind & escaped)
    • Growlithe - Route 202 in Platinum (caught)
    • Alolan Diglett - hidden cave in the Lush Jungle in Sun (caught)
    • Granbull - area just before the Battle Tree in UltraSun (caught)
    • Zubat - Union Cave in Crystal VC (caught)

My best REALLY dumb luck Shinies were a pair of Alolan Grimer in Sun. I was only there to find a normal Magnemite, and I found two Shinies before that happened. :lol

A question for shiny hunters out there.

I'm shiny hunting a Landorus in Ultra Sun. However, I have not get captured the Tornadus from this game. Is Landorus shiny-locked until I capture the Tornadus?

(I brought a Tornadus and Thundurus from other games, so I can access Landorus).

That has no factor in shiny-locking whatsoever.

Yeah, none of the Ultra Wormhole Pokemon are shiny locked. The game only checks that you have a Tornadus and Thundurus on your team to encounter Landorus.

Hm. I was hoping that they'd have Gigantamax Corviknight and Centiskorch with this round, since they're the last of the available Gigantamax Pokemon that have yet to be featured with these boosted spawns. But I guess it's kinda cool they're giving some of the more popular competitive Pokemon a focus.
