Not a single shiny from Pokémon Blue box 1... kind of surprised at the genders assigned to them too, loads of names no longer fit based on the genders they got. No female Snorlax either... so seriously is that a rare gender or do Snorlax not get females? I forget.

Female ♀: 11.9%

 

Dang, the odds of getting a shiny female from red or blue must be .00005%.  

 

The thing with Gen 1 Pokemon games is no random encounter Pokemon can be shiny from what I have read on several sites/videos. In game trades and legends can be though.

 

The fuck??? How is that even a good idea? All Pokémon should have the same chance of being Shiny, not just in-game trades.

 

If nobody minds, I may ask what happened during the Nintendo Direct this Afternoon if there is something Pokémon.

 

The chances of there being something Pokemon Gen 8 related are -very- slim.

 

From what I have read the shininess is determined by a Pokemon's DV value, predocessor to IV, in Gen 2 but due to the Gameboy's limited capabilities the DVs needed for a shiny are not generated in random battles in Gen 1 so when you trade to Gen 2 or now Gen 7 they will never be shiny. Why they didn't take that into account during Gen 2 development I don't know.

 

If Not, then maybe an announcement of n64 classic?

 

All Nintendo has announced is that the Direct will cover a new Fire Emblem game and "information on upcoming Nintendo Switch titles".

 

Ok. Then I still just hope for Pokemon gen 8 to be revealed.

 

Finally cleaning up the Dex in Blue... Only a few more to evolve or catch and I'll have almost all 150 Pokémon. Most of which are being transported out to UltraSun since I can have some fun leveling them if I feel like it. Made a slight gaff though, now I'll have to breed in gold or silver to get Jolteon for Red and Yellow once I get my second system for dex completion digital trade fun.

 

Guess we will have to wait a little longer for Gen 8.

 

How do I register for the Battle Competition so I can get Shiny Bulu?

 

The Pokémon Global Link has a guide for signing up for competitions.

In short, first you need to sign-up to participate in the competition on the Pokemon Global Link website.

In the game, after you've registered, you'll need to download your digital player ID. Which is done when you go to the Festival Plaza, select the Battle option and then select the Online competition.

The game will then ask you to choose a battle team. Make sure you've got the items and everything want, as the game will put a lock on them.

Also note, you need to participate in at least 3 battles to get the Shiny Tapu Bulu.
