I case you didn't know the QR for the movie hat Pikachu is not unique. It can be scanned once you get to Akala Island. The Magearna QR also seems to work but only after you are champion.

 

Nice. I was wondering if the Magearna AR code would still work for US/UM.

anywho, this is an amazing update so far! loving the recon squad's reactions. and the team skull/mantine thing was hilarious. yet again, the water totem causes trouble...

 

The grass totem is still a pain. Giving it synthesis makes the battle a pain unless you can magically 1 shot it.

 

Pokémon Bank update for Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon is now available. (Way earlier than I anticipated)

 

FYI, you can breed the event Rockruff. It won't have the move Happy Hour but you can breed it. It will only evolve into Dusk form just like the event version. I haven't tried it yet though. According to what I've read it is basically treated like a different Pokemon than the regular Rockruff and can only have Own Tempo as its ability. That may or may not be true as, like I said, I haven't tried to breed it yet.

 

I can't seem to find any info on this and to avoid other spoilers I'd prefer not to watch gameplay videos for the answer.

Are there version exclusive Battle Tree characters in the Ultras like there were in Sun and Moon? I know there are new opponents in general but I haven't seen anything about opponents unique to either Ultra game.

And apparently Gold/Silver is supported in Poké Transporter with this update as well, although I'm yet to confirm myself!

That's good to know, thanks! I'm using the Lycanroc during my playthrough, but he's so cool I was hoping to be able to get another one that I can more properly influence the EVs of once I got Poké Pelago upgraded!

 

Yep, Gold and Silver importing works now! Strangely, PokéTransporter now gives the option for Pokémon Crystal importing as well, so it sounds like Crystal's going to be on the Virtual Console soon.

 

I hope Crystal will be out in time for Christmas.

 

I've been playing UltraSun since Friday and I like the new stuff added from the original sun and moon.

I read online that USUM are the final main rpg games of the franchise for the 3DS.

 

Yeah, apparently if you don't get a Switch you can't play any more Gens after 7. Really odd move honestly, considering we had a total of 9 games on DS, but so far the 3DS only has 8 releases, I was expecting another Kanto remake honestly or something because it's odd that the system with the most physical copies of main franchise titles was the DS.

It's going to be odd too since we have no idea if there is even going to be a next gen for Handhelds.

Can't say I think the difference of one game really makes it odd at all. After all, the GBA only got, what, five games? Besides that, the 3DS is over six years old at this point and the Switch has been out for over half a year. Ultra Sun/Moon are basically to the 3DS and Switch what Black/White 2 were to the DS and 3DS, the way I see it.
