Hello everyone. I'm not really that religious of a person. I mean I do believe in God and in Jesus but I don't go to church regularly. My wife, however, is very religious. Her faith is unyielding. I sometimes wish I had her positive outlook on life. But, after last night, it's really no wonder that I don't. Late last night, my wife Carla fell very ill and I had to take her to the hospital. She is experiencing very sharp pains in her lower right abdomen area. There are three possibilities: Appendesitis, an Ovarian sist (family history), or a really bad kidney stone (also family history). After being up all night and all day with her in horrible pain (over 17 hours total), the doctors still do not know what exactly is wrong with her. She's not pregnant, that's certain. They did find a very small sist on one of her ovaries, but they said it was normal. They also did a catscan and found her Appendix to be slightly irritated, but apparently not enough to conclude that this was the problem. And based on blood tests, the doctors don't think it's a kidney stone even though they never actually scanned her kidneys to be sure! So, now they have her on 24 hour watch to she if she gets worse. Then tomorrow, after more tests, they'll decide if she needs surgery or to send her home without a definitive answer. I am so exhausted right now and angry and frustrated that these doctors cannot tell me what is wrong with my wife. I love her more than life itself and I really don't know what I would do without her. So, whether you are really religious or not, please say a prayer for her tonight. I just thought that maybe if she received enough prayers, maybe a miracle would happen and she will get better, with or without the stupid doctors. Thank you all.
I'm sure your wife is in good hands, and that the doctors are both competent and doing everything they can and should do. And a CT scan that checks for appendicitis "scans the kidneys" also, so rest assured, they didn't just skip a test. Be patient--medicine is as much an art as a science, and sometimes, they need time to assess the patient before giving you the solid answer you have every reason to want.
my wife has kidney stones too man...and i mean stones with and S.....she's had 9 since we got together i think....hopefully itll just be that, itll pass, and life will move on...my heart goes to you...
We'll offer a prayer for your wife. Hope she gets well soon. I'm sure whatever you are going through now has a purpose. Be strong and never give up. Wish you and your family all the best.
Thank you all for the kind words. I will pass them on to Carla. After I first posted here, I went back to the hospital to see her. She is not doing well at all. She is vomiting a lot and still has severe pains in her abdomen. We tried to convince the doctor to move up her follow-up scans instead of waiting until tomorrow morning, but to no avail. Her next scan is at 6am. Carla has suffered so much today and she doesn't deserve it. She is a much better person than I am. She's been on morphine all day and it hasn't really helped with the pain. Before I left for the night, the nurse gave Carla a shot of Laudenum and thankfully that knocked her out. I can only hope she stays that way so she doesn't suffer for the rest of the night. Tomorrow I will be back at the hospital by her side. Again, thank all of you for your kind words. We both really appreciate it.
My wife had an appendectomy a couple of years ago. It didn't rupture. It was only irritated. But she was doubled over in pain for many long hours. I took her to the ER where she stayed overnight and was given demerol. She was scheduled for an appendectomy the following day.
my wife experienced the same kind of pain about 4 years ago. it was found out thru an ultrasound that it was because of an ovarian cyst on her left ovary. she was able to get well, and the cyst gone with the help of medicines. i'll be praying for you and your wife that things get better.
If her faith is as strong as you made it out to be, then she is in real good hands. God is sovereign and He will do what is right according to His will. Rom 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. I will pray for her.
